A New Year and Some Goals

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

You may have noticed that I have been taking a little break from blogging over the past few days. While I was still reading blogs and commenting here and there, I decided that I needed a break from writing my own posts and that I should spend a lot less time online and rather focus on living life.

Over the past few days I have also been thinking about my 2010 goals, but I haven’t written them down yet. I guess there is no time like the present…

  • Continue to incorporate my 2009 goals into my life – I will continue to focus on my family and on trying to keep us all happy and healthy
  • Make green juice at least four times per week, preferably more often
  • Take an exercise class; I have been avoiding this for far too long… I plan on trying out some classes in February after the “January gym craziness”…
  • Hike at least once per month
  • Find a better blog/life balance – I love this blog and the blogging world, but it can take up too much of my time. In the next few weeks, I will experiment with some “blogging rules” for myself…

Questions: Did you do anything special for New Year’s Eve? Do you have any goals for 2010?

Be well,

Andrea

  1. Glad you liked my pics. That is neat that you were able to show the toddler a rainbow. They can be so beautiful and peaceful. We stayed in last night but did see the fireworks since we like nearby the marina and ocean, we have a great view. It was rainy and windy, but they still set them off.

  2. I think I need to find a good life/blog balance too. I need to keep reminding myself that I am under no obligation to post/comment...it's just a hobby, that I enjoy.

Last night Nick and I went out to his friend's bar. IT was nice and relaxing, which is what we needed.

    Happy New year!

  3. I hope to continue learning and using more ways of being "greener"!
I would also love to try a new exercise class - maybe yoga or pilates!

  4. I plan on juicing more and eating more veges, although I eat quite a bit, the goal is to eat more. I also plan on being a better blogger. :)

  5. i totally agree with the living life...i plan to cut back a bit on blogging too, not because i don't love it, but because there is a world out there to explore! and i need to see it!

lots of love, happiness, fun and peace to you in 2010 andrea!

  6. Great goals...all of them! I should do the green juice 4 times a week. Exercise classes are super fun, and I loveeee hiking. And agreed, in future weeks I'm going to decide how much time I want to spend blogging. It's time consuming, but also quite fulfilling as well.

  7. Great goals for the new year!

I agree that blogging is time-consuming for me also; it's hard to find the balance when I really enjoy it! Whenever, I feel it may be taking away from family time, I just cut back for a bit, too. Like after I write this comment, I'm unplugging! LOL :)

My number one goal for the new year is to get my emotional/mindless eating under control!

  8. I agree, blogging can take up a lot of time! Hope you find your balance in 2010!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We stayed in, watched movies and went to bed at 12:05! Yep, we are officially old!

  9. I do love blogging, but it really takes up a lot of time. I try to post every three days and comment as much as I can, without letting it take over my life.

I had spent most of my time at church on NYE. It was great :)

My main goal for 2010 is to focus less on myself and to give to others. I would also like to decrease my time at the gym and increase my time doing yoga!

    Happy New Year, Andrea!!!

  10. Blogging RUles...OMG I need this. I need that whole goal. I have said it before to others, but somehow I need to ramp down, not up. I need to somehow just cut myself off. And not care. But I do care. And that's the catch 22. LMK what you end up doing!!!! And what your fine tooth comb strategy is...or are you just "winging it".

"“January gym craziness”… " LOL and I think this and the hiking are both great!

    Happy 2010 Andrea and family!!!!!

  11. I can understand the time consumption of the blogworld and of course you are looking for balance because you're that kind of smart girl! LOL! How ever often you post, I will read.

    Happy New Year Andrea!

  12. Happy New Year, Andrea!! I pretty much stayed home this year and celebrated with my mom. As for my goals this year I got a few. One of the top one is being more healthy than I was last year. Of course the blog. It's weird thing trying to balance it all out, I've done fairly good so far. Hopefully I can still "sort of" keep up.

  13. I can relate to your goal of wanting to find a blog/life balance. After Cory and I get married and start a family, I don't think I will be able to devote as much time to blogging as I do now. Recently, I started blogging only ~5 times per week but if things get crazy with my upcoming wedding I may have to cut back.

    Happy New Year!!!

  14. I couldn't agree more about blogging and life balance. I'm finding that an issue as of late here, too. I don't like it, either! As there are only so many hours in the day, I am committing to not reading blogs that don't "feed" me. It will be hard, but definitely worth it. Your blog "feeds" me, so I'm not going anywhere : ) Happy New Year, Andrea!

  15. LOVE the hiking goal. I want to do that, too! And I'm going to be experimenting with green juices a lot over the next month; I'm looking forward to it.

  16. I'll be interested in hearing what your blogging rules turn out to be. Just like you, I often find myself devoting so much time -- perhaps TOO much time -- to it. It's such fun, I must admit. But still, we all have to make room for other things in our busy lives, too.

    Happy New Year!

  17. Haha, I definitely hear you about the over-blogging tendencies...For now, I think posting once every two days works best for me...I used to post daily, which got rather stressful sometimes, almost like meeting a deadline!

    Happy New Year, Andrea!

  18. Happy New Year, Andrea! I am definitely with you on your last resolution about balance with blogging and the rest of LIFE--it is so easy to get sucked into the blogosphere!
Hope 2010 is a great year for you!

  19. NYE was very low key. At least my hubby stayed awake this year!! :)

I don't really have any goals. I think that with my hectic life just taking it one day at a time is the best I can do!
