Rombauer Vineyards Wine Dinner at Il Fornaio Burlingame

Andy and I were fortunate to be invited to the Rombauer Vineyards Wine Dinner at Il Fornaio Burlingame. Both the wines and the food were outstanding. Thank you Il Fornaio Burlingame for hosting us!

The meal started with passed hors d'oeuvres. I got the potato crochette and the cerviche, and they were both delicious.

Next was the appetizer trio, which was paired with the Rombauer Vineyards 2017 Sauvignon Blanc. I really enjoyed the fruity and fresh wine, and it paired very well with the delicious seafood appetizers - sea urchin, grilled octupus salad and tuna tartare on a taro root chip. I could have eaten twenty chips with tartare... A real treat!

My favorite pairing of the evening was the eggplant stuffed with lamb which was paired with the 2017 Merlot. The flavors in the wine complemented the eggplant and lamb dish perfectly.

One of the main course choices was swordfish in a spicy broth. The spiciness of the dish paired very nicely with the fruity and buttery 2017 Chardonnay Carneros. I'm usually not a "chardonnay person," but who doesn't love the Rombauer Chardonnay?!!!

The meal ended with a chocolate mousse with raspberries and raspberry sauce. I really liked that the wine accompanying the dessert course wasn't sweet as the berry flavors and tannins of the 2016 Zinfandel went very nicely with the dish.

Thanks again Il Fornaio Burlingame for hosting us! It was a delicious evening!

Embroidered Linen and Cotton Shirt from Eva Trends

Disclosures: This is a sponsored post by Eva Trends. As always, all opinions are my own.

In the last few weeks, I showed you two fabulous pieces I received from Eva Trends (a graphic knit top and an embroidered scarf). Today, I'll show you the last piece I received: a beautiful, embroidered linen and cotton shirt that's long enough even on me (I'm almost 5'11'') to wear with leggings. It's a great piece for spring!

And the shirt has pockets! How fun is that!

I really like the interest the embroidery adds to the cotton and linen shirt. It instantly dresses up a comfortable and casual leggings outfit.

And I'm leaving you with this "outtake" which shows we have fun on our "photo shoots."

Embroidered Spring and Summer Scarf from Eva Trends

Disclosures: This is a sponsored post by Eva Trends. As always, all opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links, and www.andreaswellnessnotes.com will benefit from actions taken on the links.

Last week, I showed you the fun graphic knit top I received from Eva Trends. I have worn it several more times and love it. The second item I received from Eva Trends is a beautiful, embroidered scarf. If you have been reading this blog for a while and/or follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I have a mild obsession with scarves... I think they literally can take an outfit from boring to extraordinary, so you can never have too many, right?!

On the website the scarf I ordered is listed as "pink," but I think it's more of a coral - so beautiful and on trend right now. In fact, I think it's the perfect spring and summer scarf!

I couldn't help myself and wore the scarf the day I received it with a soft mint-colored denim jacket and a graphic tee. Several people commented how much they liked the scarf that day.

I also took the scarf on our little beach getaway, and it kept me warm in the at times very windy weather. I love the embroidered scarf with the denim jacket, the striped long sleeve tee and the white jeans.

Here is another look at the scarf and the embroidery. It's simply stunning. Cheers to that!

Coral Embroidered Scarf

On the second day of our beach getaway, I wore the scarf with an all white outfit, and I love the way the scarf looks with white. I'm definitely going to take it on our trip to Germany this summer. Since it is a large scarf, it'll be perfect to use as a cover up on cool summer evenings. And to keep me warm on the airplane! The embroidered scarf comes in twelve colors, and I'm very tempted to order another one. Either for myself or as a gift. Well, whom am I kidding. I know I couldn't give it away....

Sentence a Day: February 2019

I've been writing a sentence a day for a while now, and I started again doing so on February 1. Unfortunately, except for three or four days, every single day this month had do with illness: a bad cold, strep throat, the stomach flu, and finally the flu. Through most of it, I didn't have the energy to actually write a sentence, and there was really nothing to write about, other than I was very sick. So I have decided to just post photos of a few highlights. I'll be back to my regular sentences in March. You can read my past sentences on my Sentence a Day Page.

I had signed up for a non-refundable yoga workshop about deep tissue release using yoga balls a while back; I was still really sick and should have probably stayed home, but I'm really glad I went as the information presented was wonderful. The instructor also suggested some very useful books.

Friday, February 15 - Sunday, 17, 2019
We spent two nights in our happy place - Avila Beach. Unfortunately, the kid woke up with a high fever and miserable on Saturday morning, and we ended just staying in the room most of the time. But we are still very thankful to get to spend some time in our happy place.

Graphic Knit Top from Eva Trends

Disclosures: This is a sponsored post by Eva Trends. As always, all opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links, and www.andreaswellnessnotes.com will benefit from actions taken on the links.

At the end of last year, I did a fun collaboration with Eva Trends and was really impressed by the quality of all the pieces I received. I kept getting compliments on the pieces I had picked whenever I wore them, especially the oversized graphic sweater. So when Eva Trends approached me for a second collaboration, I couldn't wait to pick another graphic sweater. They have so many to choose from, and I could have honestly picked one of each in their collection.

I received the items from Eva Trends just as I was getting over the flu, and wearing real clothes for the first time in weeks was a real treat. The soft and comfortable sweater made me instantly feel better.

Isn't the design fun? I just love the cartoon girl who is ready to explore Paris! Take me with you! The sweater is a bit oversized, soft and drapes really well. It's perfect for a half tuck. I like how well the sweater pairs with my new faded rust skinny jeans. I didn't even plan it when I ordered them while I was laying sick in bed.

I love how well the graphic sweater goes with my new colored jeans, but I also look forward wearing it so many different ways: with black pants/jeans, with blue jeans, with a pencil skirt. So many possibilities! Plus, the pink and coral hues in the sweater are really on trend for spring!
