Another Look at the Lysse Faux Leather Leggings

On Saturday, we went to the Halloween Beewalk in Willow Glen, which was a lot of fun, especially since we got to hang out with some friends of ours. Andy wrote a recap post of the Halloween Beerwalk in Willow Glen on his blog, so if you are interested, check it out.

While we were in Willow Glen, we found a really fun mural. We didn't have much time to take photos as we were on a time crunch to pick up cupcakes for the kid's birthday party the next day and then get the kid at his friend's house.

But we took a few. I again wore the Lysse Faux Leather Leggings, and I really like them. They are still 40% off and also come in burgundy. This time I wore a black and white tunic with the leggings. I can see myself wearing them all fall and winter long.

Feeling My Best with a Pre-Holiday Cleanse

If you have been reading this blog for a while, you'll know that I like to do a cleanse several times a year. It's a way to reset how I'm treating myself. I do eat fairly healthy year round, but things like caffeine, condiments, some wine, as well as some processed foods always find their way back into my diet eventually. Plus, self care often takes a backseat when life gets busy.

Because the holiday season tends to be busy and often stressful, I have found the weeks right before the holidays to be the perfect time to do a cleanse. It gets my head in the right place when it comes to how I want to treat my body because it's a great reminder of what makes me feel my best. Plus, a big part of the cleanse is about self care.

Some of you may wonder if doing a cleanse right when life gets busy is a good idea, and I say absolutely yes. How often did I intend to eat "sensibly" during the holidays only to not feel like myself come January 1? By doing a cleanse I get into the habit of treating myself as well as I deserve to be treated again, and it is therefore much easier to make the best decisions for my body during the holidays.

So on November 1, I'll start the transition to the Conscious Cleanse. Life has been a bit unsettled in the last few months, and I find it especially important right now to take care of myself as much as I can. I partially do this by taking five to six barre classes a week, long daily walks and a few gym workouts (I'm planning to write a post about how my workouts have helped me deal with stress). The other part is the food I put into my body. In the past, when life got stressful, I reached for "comfort" food that did anything but comfort me in the long run. It's good to break that cycle.

What I especially love about the Conscious Cleanse is all the support you get: daily "love note" emails, daily email support based on your needs, a private Facebook group to share triumphs, struggles, and ask questions, and live tele seminars throughout the cleanse that really support you throughout your cleansing journey.

There are so many reasons why I love the Conscious Cleanse ever since I did it for the first time in January 2013. Eventually, I became an ambassador for the cleanse because I truly believe in it, and I love hearing back from people whom I introduced to the cleanse and who love how it made them feel. Here are a few of the posts that I have written over the years. Check them out in case you would like more information:

Lysse Faux Leather Leggings

A tunic-and-leggings combo is one of my signature looks. And I especially love leather leggings as they instantly add some edginess to any outfit.

A few weeks ago, Suzanne from Ask Suzanne Bell wrote a post about her top five leggings. Head on over and check out her post; she gives lots and lots of useful info regarding her favorite leggings and how to style them!

One of the leggings that she recommends are the Lysse High Waist Faux Leather Leggings. I remember her recommending them last year as well, and I have been curious ever since. Plus, they are currently 40% off, which makes them a lot more affordable, so I went ahead and ordered them. And I am not disappointed! Thanks Suzanne for the recommendation! If you are in the market for faux leather leggings, I suggest giving the Lysse faux leather leggings a try!

Questions: Do you like wearing leggings? If so, what are your favorite ones? Do you like wearing faux leather leggings?

My Happy Dress

It was Andy's birthday a few days ago, and he took the day off. Unfortunately, we both ended up not feeling well all day. Since we both felt a bit better in the afternoon, we kept our reservations at La Fondue in Saratoga.

Since I didn't feel all that great, I wanted to wear something that made me feel better. One of the items in my closet that always makes me feel good is my Desigual dress that I bought in Germany several years ago.

Question: What do you wear when you don't feel well?

Casual Outfit at Avaya Stadium

This post contains affiliate links, and www.andreswellnessnotes.com benefits from actions taken on the links.

Yesterday, Andy was a judge at the Taco Takeover Festival at Avaya Stadium in San Jose. It was a beautiful day, and I decided to keep my outfit casual by wearing my favorite white jeans and my brand-new LuLaRoe Lynnae Top.

I bought the top the night before when an old co-worker of mine stopped by to chat for hours - which was wonderful - and share some of the LuLaRoe clothes she sells. The top is super soft, and I always have a weakness when it comes to stripes. I know the top will be a favorite of mine.

I've never liked cotton candy and didn't have any, but I thought it made a cute prop (and Andy really liked it).

Outfit Details: White jeans, Striped Top (this is a fun option), Silver Lace-up Flats (similar), Desigual bag (I love this Desigual backbag).

Questions: What did you do on the weekend? Do you like stripes? What's your favorite striped clothing item?

Sentence a Day: September 2017

I first joined Sarah and Leslie in writing one sentence a day in January, and this is my eighth sentence-a-day post. You can read my January sentences here, my February sentences here, my March sentences here, my April sentences here, my May sentences here, my June sentences here, my July sentences here, and my August sentences here.

September 1, 2017
The heat wave is going strong (105+ F); to avoid having to cook, we took my in-laws out for dinner.

September 2, 2017
It's still super hot (107+ F); we went for a 5-mile walk at 8:30 a.m., and it was already 90 degrees and we were miserable.

September 3, 2017
We invited some friends for a blind cider tasting, but since I have been having a lot of gallbladder issues, I stuck to tasting kombuchas.

September 4, 2017
I started the day with a challenging barre class, but since the kid is fighting a cold, and we took it easy for the rest of the day.

September 5, 2017
The kid felt a bit better and was able to go to school; I also finally got around to installing our new printer (our old one broke sometime in June...).

September 6, 2017
The kid had a play date with a friend from his old school, and I enjoyed catching up with his mom.

September 7, 2017
I bought lots of produce and other foods in preparation for the cleanse and made a big pot of cleanse-friendly Thai Coconut Soup, one of our favorite cleanse foods.

September 8, 2017
I had several appointments in San Francisco today and got a bit dressed up in my Karina dress.

September 9, 2017
Today was a busy day as Andy and the kid had Saturday school in the morning, and the kid went to a birthday party in the afternoon.

September 10, 2017
We discovered another leak in the ceiling - will it ever end???

September 11, 2017
We will never forget.

September 12, 2017
Lots more very costly home repairs.

September 13, 2017
I got some work done in the morning and then I made a couple more trips to Home Depot and Osh and prepped a couple walls to be painted.

September 14, 2017
I'm certainly not the world's greatest painter.

September 15, 2017
I started the day with a barre class, and we did more home repair/improvement work.

September 16, 2017
I started the day with a barre class again and then met up with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time; the rest of the day was spent prepping for the new quarter.

September 17, 2017
I started the day with a barre class again (I'm participating in a 20 barre classes in 30 days challenge but got a late start because of all the home repairs and life "stuff") and we were invited to a very yummy brunch at our friends' house in the late morning.

September 18, 2017
I took the car in for two recalls only to be told that they only had the parts for one of the recalls; there were also more trips to Home Depot.

September 19, 2017
The hardwood floor installer was supposed to be here bright and early; instead he showed up in the afternoon and got barely started.

September 20, 2017
The hardwood floor installer flaked completely today; he says he'll come tomorrow. This is getting really old...

September 21, 2017
Finally! The floor is installed!

September 22, 2017
I took the eighth barre class in a row and am really, really sore; I also got a pedicure, which was lovely.

September 23, 2017
It was a busy day of cleaning, grocery shopping, laundry and buying some rugs.

September 24, 2017
I started the day with another barre class and was sore like never before; the rest of the day was spent on getting ready for the fall quarter, which starts tomorrow.

September 25, 2017
The first day of the quarter went well, and I even got to sneak in a lunch time barre class.

September 26, 2017
I started the day with another barre class, went for a long walk and then worked from home.

September 27, 2017
Today was an emotionally exhausting day; thankful for the lunchtime barre class.

September 28, 2017
Took another barre class, went for a long walk, worked from home and took a nap as I didn't sleep much the night before.

September 29, 2017
The first week of the quarter went pretty well, which is always a relief.

September 30, 2017
We attended the Oktoberfest in Mountain View today.

Oktoberfest Outfit

Yesterday, we attended the Oktoberfest in Mountain View (local readers: it's also going on today, October 1!), a quite festive and elaborate production. The spirit of the crowd was definitely fun.

I wore the only traditional German blouse I own but paired it with jeans to give it a more modern and "me" feel.

By the way, I only drank water but had to borrow the beer for the pictures...

I even translated for a bit for Heinz, the MC, which was fun.

I can't believe how tall the kid has gotten...

After a stressful month on multiple fronts, it was good to get out and have some fun.

Questions: Have you ever attended an Oktoberfest celebration?

Andrea
