What's Your Favorite Workout DVD?

I have been quite consistent with my gym workouts over the past couple months. I have also done The 30 Day Shred numerous times. I like Jillian's workout because the DVD consists of three twenty-minute, "back-to-basics" workouts: jumping jacks, push-ups, crunches, lunges.... Hubby actually calls it "old school;" he loves that word...

Anyway, I am realizing that we are surrounded by the flu, the weather is getting more and more unpredictable, and it's time to mix things up a bit. I want to be prepared for the days I won't be able to make it to the gym and don't want to do the same DVD over and over again. I don't do The 30 Day Shred two days in a row as I like to mix up my workouts.

Besides The 30 Day Shred, my only other workout DVDs are some old Winsor Pilates DVDs, which I need to dust off. So I'm thinking of purchasing a few more DVDs to have some variety (since I don't have Cable TV and working out to online workouts doesn't work out that well for me).

Questions: Do you work out to DVDs? What are your favorite workout DVDs? I would like to get a good yoga DVD as well as a total body workout DVD and possibly some other fun, new workouts. I plan to compile a list of everyone's favorites over the next few days and post an update later in the week.

I hope you are having a great Monday! Can you believe it's the last week of October...

Be well,
Andrea

  2. I don't have a fitness DVD right now but I think I'd like to get one.

Right now I just do cardio 6 days and some strength training when I think about it. (Not as consistently as I should!)

  7. Great question sisnce I am thinking the same thing. I hear the wind here is insane and if I don';t have to go out during that time, I probably won't go to the gym. I have been using the wii fit and wii active for now.

  11. Back in the day I used to do Denise Austin and Kathy Smith workout vides (VHS, not DVDs!), but I haven't done workout videos for probably 10 years. However, I am very curious as to what the 30 day shred is like!

  12. I love the 30 Day Shred!! I don't really use DVD's. I record a few episodes off of FITv that look good during the week, but rarely do I do them.

My mom and sister do the Denise Austin DVD's love them.

  13. My fave is 30 Day Shred too! Other then that, I don't do DVDs much. I record Namaste Yoga for a quick stretch when I am in the mood.

The year is going by so quickly, isn't it?

  14. I used to workout to those Tao-Bo tapes many years back. But I don't really do DVD workouts. I've never really caught one to those. I just do my own workout at home. Or go for a run outside.

  15. DVD's for me have only worked in silos. When I was pregnant, I did the Kathy Smith Pregnancy workout and it was great at the time. The only other DVD that has 'stuck' with me is the Shred. I'd like to try out a few more too. I'll watch these comments for some ideas.

  20. No, I can't believe that it's the last week of October already! Time is moving crazy fast.

The only dvds I use are yoga dvds, and I like yogazone's power yoga for beginners and weight loss for a shorter-easier workout. I also like Sara Ivanhoe's Fat Burning Yoga. I don't use these for weight loss though (but it seems that I do, haha), I guess I just happened to like the ones that get your heart rate up a bit and also has nice stretches as well.
