The Simple Joys of Summer

I have said it before; I absolutely love summer. Yesterday, we had a great day of simple summer fun.

The day started off with the teenager making some pancakes. I didn't have any of them, but hubby, the teenager & the toddler seemed to enjoy them... The teenager actually took this picture and expected me to post it on my blog... :o)

Then we took the toddler to a nature park, and we had lots of fun...

Going down the slide

Playing in the water play area...
On the way home, we stopped by the organic farm and stocked up on some more veggies...
Hubby asked for some shrimp cocktail, and he got it!
Question: What are some of your recent simple summer joys?

Be well,

  1. Looks like lots of summer fun. My favorite part of summer right now is fruit...

  2. cute! I just like wearing shorts and flip flops again...

  3. Your son is so adorable. And your teenager obviously knows good foodie blog material when he sees it (the pancakes look like perfection!).

I enjoy just sitting by the pool and reading my silly, fictional, girly, "chick" books. It's a nice break from research articles!

I've been thinking a lot too about how glad I am it's summer and the abudance of local, fresh produce. Everything TASTES better too!

How great to have a local, organic farm! I'm totally jealous! Looks like you scored some great loot.

  5. Lovely pancakes ;)

My simple summer joy is eating our meals outdoors on the deck. It is so relaxing.

  7. Whoa, those pancakes look yummy. :) And the toddler is adorrrable!

  8. cute kid ;)

about the ballet class: there are classes at school I can take, but they're expensive! I'm thinking of creating some routines of my own that I can do in my dorm.

    Have a great weekend!

  9. I always loved waking up to the smell of pancakes during the summer :)
