For the past few weeks, my oatmeal of choice combo included a bit of Trader Joe’s pumpkin butter and a few walnuts. I honestly could eat that combo forever… It's so simple, yet so good. But, to not be so boring, I picked up some cranberry apple butter the other day. And I used it in my oats instead of the pumpkin butter. It was a nice, slightly tart, fall combo. But the pumpkin/walnut combo is still my favorite…
Question: What’s your favorite oatmeal combo at the moment? I know you guys are a lot more creative than I am…
Also, as you have probably heard by now, Chocolate Covered Katie needs your clicks for a good cause. So head over there to help her out.
And finally, let's not forget to floss!
Be well,
Andrea
Oh my, that looks absolutely amazing!! I'm on a big oatmeal kick, so I have to try this.
ReplyDeleteMine right now is to just use plain oatmeal and then add a little bit of pumpkin spice to it. Simple, but it really captures the season.
I'm not very creative with oatmeal either - Right now I'm rocking Old Fashioned Oats with Chia Goodness (Cranberry).
ReplyDeleteOh Andrea, you are so sweet :). And your blog is awesome too!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE TJ's cranberry apple butter :)
ReplyDeleteI am LOVING everyone's oatmeal creations but I just can't get myself to make any. I love oatmeal but I am just not in the mood for it i guess...
ReplyDeleteand eating the same thing over again...yeah. GUILTY. I could live off yams and kale right now. odd I know but it's sooooooooo good.
yah for cranberries! and FLOSS...Check!
That does sound like the perfect combination. I usually do almond butter, but instead of almond or nut butter I should try just adding walnuts or almonds, for some crunch. I also love adding pumpkin now, of course, and brown sugar and honey.
ReplyDeletei just got not one but two jars of that ACB in california! i will have to try this out. i always just have my vanilla protein oats with maple peanut butter.. boring but never gets old.
ReplyDeleteContrary to so many bloggers, though I love nut butter, I can't stand the texture when mixed into oats!
ReplyDeleteI like my oats with some cinnamon and raisins, and not very creamy. I guess I am not a hot cereal purist :)
Though, sometimes I like to add sauteed apples or some crunchy granola.
I love brown sugar and butter in my oatmeal. I need to find the cranberry apple butter - it sounds fantastic.
ReplyDeleteSounds good, both combos do. I really need to start making oatmeal more often so I can eat these yummy versions too. I am lucky some days if I am out of the house on time now that I am working part time at the middle school/high school.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like such a great fall breakfast!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite combo yet; I'm still playing around with oats and trying to make myself like them! LOL! I do enjoy oat bran though!
You make me giggle with the floss reminder! I didn't join the challenge -so lazy!, but I think of you sometimes when I've already gotten into bed at night and forgot to floss! LOL!
favorite combo? so many! oatmeal with flaxmeal as base, toppings: blueberries, almond butter, preserves, cottage cheese.
ReplyDeleteTJ's has the best stuff, doesn't it? Whenever I go there, I can't help but be tempted by some new thing on the shelves.
ReplyDeleteLooks great to me! I love canned pumpkin and walnuts in my oatmeal!
ReplyDeletemmm!! looks so great...my favorite combo would have to be frozen berries and PB with some banana slices in there!! YUM I have that every morning :)
ReplyDeleteMmm...oatmeal! I usually like mine with just a bit of brown sugar. Nothing else. Not very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI really like PB2, banana & carob in my oats!!
ReplyDeleteWhoa--I had no idea TJ's made apple cranberry butter, too! You mean, there's a new love in town?! ;)
ReplyDeletemm i will have to try that pumpkin butter combo soon!
ReplyDeletei love love love my oats with cocoa powder & a huge scoop of peanut butter topped with a reeses. so delicious.
Everybody and their oatmeal creativity has got me wanting to try new things but I always end up eating the same thing I ate at my mom's table growing up: hot oatmeal with a sprinkle of brown sugar and a splash of nice cold milk.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE all the great combo ideas I get for oatmeal from bloggers! This one sounds delicious and I never would have thought of it! Right now, I'm on blueberry, banana, walnut or almond butter kick - it's soo good! :)
ReplyDeletecranberries and walnuts on oats is a great fall topping for oats! I haven't been eating much oatmeal recently but I ate this all the time last fall - loved it!
ReplyDeleteI think if it got cold in New Orleans during the winter I would eat more oatmeal... I love almond butter in oats!
ReplyDeletecranberry apple butter...sounds like heaven =)
ReplyDeleteYum! I'll make a cranberry oatmeal tomorrow with my leftover cranberry relish!
ReplyDeleteOoh~ this sounds GOOD...great fall flavors!
ReplyDeleteMy fave oat creation is still the same: matcha with milk, topped with loads of almonds and red-skinned peanuts! Oh, and AB!
I love my oatmeal with brown sugar & dried fruits but not butter.
