Ready for Scarf Weather

When I showed you my “less-than-perfect” olive jacket a few posts back, I mentioned that I bought the jacket mainly to wear with one of my favorite scarves. Several of you asked me to show you the scarf in the comments and via email.

So here it is! It’s still too hot (it was in the upper 90s this week!!!) to wear around here, but I did find a few pictures from late last year (which explains the not-so-pretty backdrop; I've been working hard trying to take prettier and more interesting photos this year...):

Olive Scarf 2

Statement Scarf 01
 Scarf details: BP Southwestern Scarf

The scarf is BP from Nordstrom, and it sold out pretty quickly last year. But it’s available again this year, and I have a feeling we’ll be seeing it quite a bit as it goes so well with greens and other fall colors…

Luckily, it’s supposed to cool down considerably, and we may even get a little rain (fingers crossed) on the weekend, so maybe I won’t have to wait too long to wear the scarf again after all...

Questions: Do you like scarves? YES! I LOVE scarves, and I can’t wait for scarf weather to get here!!! If you do like scarves, do you have a favorite one? I have too many to pick just one, but this one is in the top for sure...

Be well,

  2. I've grown to love scarves more since I've been blogging. Of course they weren't really functional when I was working as a dentist (for some reason, patients didn't love having a bunch of material fall in their face while I was bending over them---ha ha)
This scarf is quite beautiful Andrea---don't you have a white jean jacket? Because it'd really pop against that too!!

    1. Haha. Yes, a dentist with a (big) scarf wouldn't be a good idea!

And, yes, I do have a white denim jacket, and I had plans on wearing it with it! Great minds... :-) And maybe also with an olive top and white jeans.

    1. Thanks, Amy! And, yes, adding a scarf really does add a lot of warmth, and it's great that you can always take it off or wear it more loosely when it warms up...

  12. That scarf is so pretty, has a few other colors in it that you can pull out to wear with a bunch of different outfits too :) We're in the same boat, upper 90's but in the 15 day forcast I see some mid seventies and it's going to start going down to the mid 50's at night, woo hoo!

    1. Yes, I actually wore it last year with an orange/rust colored coat that was a hand me down from my sister, and I loved it.

  13. Yummy football game, rustling leaves, hot cocoa colors in that scarf. How heavy is it? I want it but just can't really justify wearing a blanket scarf in El Paso. Maybe only one or two days out of the year would it be cold enough. And then I have my perpetual hot flashes to warm me up. I just love those colors. And it works well with the vest, which I have!

    1. Hi Leslie, the scarf is pretty lightweight (the fact that it is a blanket scarf and there is quite a bit material makes it a bit warmer, but the lighter fabric keeps it from being too heavy and overwhelming). I think it's a great fall scarf for most of the country, and perfect for colder (late) fall and winter days here in California...

  15. To answer your question, Yes I love scarves and own too many. I picked up quite a few (mostly thick Wintery ones and some thin wispy ones, after season, from Nordstrom, last year). I love the layers here and that olive dominates since I have always and forever loved live green. Actually last year I picked up a very similar scarf from Express which I need to find and wear. Thanks for reminding me Andrea. I absolutely love your scarf.

    1. Thanks, Ada! I have too many scarves, too (if there is such a thing...). I've been collecting scarves for 20+ years and love how they can change up an outfit. I love olive, too, and am happy that it is still on trend as I intend to pick up a few more olive items to add to my wardrobe...

  21. I love scarves! I have a few colorful thinner weight scarves, and for winter I have pashminas. They are larger scarves so I can use them around my neck, or across my lap in a cooler room. I received the pashminas for Christmas several years ago, they are in a mid-blue, cream, fucshia, and a light grey. So I have one to go with almost any outfit.

I love the color of the scarf you are wearing! I would have purchased the jacket too, perfect backdrop for the scarf. And you look great pairing it up with the boots! Love them.

    1. Thanks, Nikki! Warm, large pashminas are great for cold weather. I love it when my scarf is large enough to cover myself with it!
