Priorities, Exercise T.V., and Another CSA Box

When things get busy, I tend to say that I don’t have time for many of the things I usually do. I recently read an article that pointed out that you always can make time for things that are truly a priority. So true! And I realized that I had to prioritize the things in my life, make changes to some, and let go of others.

Exercise T.V.

One of the things I had to let go of are daily gym workouts. They just don’t fit in our schedule at the moment. However, letting go of going to the gym, doesn’t mean I have to let go of exercise. I can still go for a quick 30 minute run or take advantage of Exercise T.V. Not exercising isn’t an option as it’s a priority, but by changing how I exercise, I’m saving time for other things, such as family breakfasts and dinners as well as playtime with the toddler.

We got another CSA box:

CSA October

Here is what was in it:
  • Oranges
  • Baby Boc Choi
  • Fingerling potatoes
  • Gala apples
  • Plums
  • Grapes
  • Chard
  • Rapini
  • Arugula
  • Radishes
  • Tomatoes
  • Cilantro
  • Sweet peppers
If you want to join us in opening the box, check out the video. I think I’ve been bitten by the video bug!  :-) Thanks for your nice comments on the first video. And to answer the questions of those who were curious about my accent, I was born and raised in Germany and moved to the U.S. in my early twenties.

Questions: Do you use Exercise T.V. and/or other exercise DVDs? If so, which ones are your favorite ones? Any exciting weekend plans?
Be well,

  1. OH I love your videos...and I too was surprised at your accent!
    Germany! That is so amazing!

Thanks for sharing your CSA BOX. You are making me really want to get started with one!

I just roasted a bag of little potatoes I got...with a little bread crumbs and a sprinkling of cheese. OH MY they were good
    Happy Weekend..OH
and I have never used a gym so I have to be very creative with fitting in exercise.

we DO have to prioritize our day!
    good post!

  2. Love the video, and your point about exercise is a great one!

I'm currently using the Insanity DVDs, and I love them! They're all 40 minutes or under, which is really helpful!

  3. I didn't even realize you had an accent! Sheesh...

Since working out is also a prioritu of mine I take advantage of the work gym over my lunch hour. A lot of people think I'm nuts for using my break to workout, but it's the only time I have without taking away from my kids.

Two DVD's I really like are the 30 Day Shred and No More Trouble Zones.

  4. Your box looked so good. I love finding unusual vegetables and experimenting. We have been eating lots of different squash this week. There are so many varieties and they are all a little different.

  5. I do both as well as workout at the gym. No fun plans this weekend just cleaning.:(

  6. i used to get exercise tv in NYC but now i don't on my cable provider. i was OBSESSED with gilad.

  7. Before we got rid of cable I used to love doing the exercise TV workouts... I miss them still sometimes! Luckily I work out at home and either create my own workouts or use a DVD so it still fits in my schedule. Looks like an awesome CSA box!

  8. I didn't know you were raised in Germany!

Oh my gosh, your older son is very attractive (don't worry, I'm not going to stalk him or anything, I'm just saying...) And I love how the toddler repeats whatever you or your son says!! And if your older son doesn't like something, he says, "EWWWW" hehe, to cute.

Nick was just looking at all of your CSA produce in amazement. Our CSA produce (3 years ago when we did it) wasn't even close to as plentiful as yours. Nick seems to think "we can grow all of that stuff in our garden next year". Umm..ok, if you say so!

  9. I recently discovered exercise tv on the internet and did 2 workouts of it and like it very much. Funny thing is that I decided this weekend that exercising must be my priority too. I also noticed that I prefer to do my workout either by running or going to the gym instead of a home workout because then when I get home I know I'm done with my workout and it's time to relax. I keep the exercise tv as a backup plan.

I only have 1 workout DVD and that's the Shred which I liked when I did it (never got to level 3 however).

  10. It's funny that you mention exercise tv because I sort of forgot about it. I did a 30 day shred on my exercise tv and forgot how nice it is if you don't feel like leaving the house.
Love what you got in your delivery! yum!

  11. Hi Andrea! Thanks so much for commenting on my new blog - I'm so glad to be back to blogging again :)

I agree with you - you have to prioritize when you don't have a lot of time! I love Exercise TV - occasionally I'll head into our basement and do some Exercise TV programs at home. My favorite at-home exercise programs have been the Jillian Michael's 30-Day Shred Program, as well as her Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism program. Both are quick but tough workouts, and bring quick results!

    I've also tried P90x - GREAT workout!!!

  12. I used to do tae bo. LOL. Now I just do my own own routine.

  13. Whoa, I did not know you were born and raised in Germany until now. I love learning more about you! The videos rock too, so keep up with those! :-)

  14. Great produce in your CSA box! Love the video!

  15. I love your video! We finally got to "meet" the teenager! And the toddler...he is SO big! The produce looks amazing, especially those plums...YUM!!

I love Exercise TV. I usually do Shred or yoga :) Like you, I just don't have time to drive to and from a gym with the parking, etc. It just adds too much time to the workout!!

  16. I wouldn't say that Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred is my favorite, but it is definitely hard core. Way to go on the prioritizing. Something I really need to work on.

  17. your CSA boxes are always great!

WE don't have Exercise TV, but it sounds like something I would like. Maybe someday :)

  18. Hi there! I love ExerciseTV plus they have great workout plans to use--love your video! Have you seen the Fitness 360 workout system or the Walktober workout plan? Brandi, you can check out ExerciseTV online for free :)
