Arugula Salad
- Arugula
- Avocado
- Tomato
- Olive oil
- Trader Joe’s Orange Muscat Champagne Vinegar – I read about this vinegar on Lara’s blog. She posted a recipe for a “liquid gold” salad dressing that sounds amazing. I still have to make it, however, as I haven’t found the fig jam yet. I believe it is sold at Whole Foods, but WF grocery trips are bit “dangerous,” so I’m limiting them at the moment. Regardless, the vinegar was amazing in the simple vinaigrette…
- Salt
- Pepper
- Parmesan cheese
Questions: What’s your favorite salad dressing? A simple vinaigrette with the orange muscat champagne vinegar is my favorite dressing right now. Do you like arugula? Yes! If so, what’s your favorite way to eat it? I like arugula in salads and on top of warm/hot pizza; I love when it is just slightly wilted…
Be Well,
Andrea
I can't believe I've never used arugula in my cooking. I know I've had it at restaurants, but I never think to purchase it. Everyone always makes such pretty creations with it, and I'm sure the taste is outstanding. I actually LOVE blue cheese dressing, but for the healthier salad I use just EVOO and balsamic vinegar. yum.
ReplyDeletemmm this does look very yummy. I can't help it, but i love creamy dressings like ranch and blue cheese! :D
ReplyDeleteoh gosh I love arugula...now that Giada de Laurentiis has made it a staple in our lives..I'll eat it any ole way!
ReplyDeleteyour salad DOES look great! and dressing?
I just ate a salad without it . I hate that but I didn't have any.
My favorite is a family recipe of balsalmic, olive oil, and mustard.
YUMMY.
xo
LOVE arugula salads! And thanks for your sweet note (=
ReplyDeletehaven't tried that dressing before - so many things to try at TJ'S!!!
ReplyDeleteYour salad sounds delish- especially the dressing! I love vinaigrettes too.
ReplyDeleteI've actually been getting into arugula a lot lately and have been meaning to post some recipes utilizing it on my blog soon. Parmesan and avocados are great complimentary ingredients!
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know Trader Joe's had orange muscat vinegar. Definitely going to have to pick some up next time I'm shopping there.
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome!!!

This looks delicious! I haven't made many salads with arugula, but love avocado in salad!
ReplyDeleteI love that arugula is automatic flavoring to salads, without any extra dressing (although that is also necessary!).
ReplyDeletePlus, avocados are always a plus.
A delicious salad, I will have to check out that dressing for sure!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of arugala.....to potent for me! I like a simple, light dressing on my salad. Heavier ones mask the flavours, I find. That orange muscat from TJ's sounds like it would be pretty good!
ReplyDeleteI have arugula growing in my garden right now almost ready to pick! I love making pesto out of it: http://gethealthywithheather.wordpress.com/recipes/mixed-nut-arugula-pesto/
ReplyDeleteI think your salad looks great! I love the big chunks of avocado.
Yeah, P90X is a HUGE time committment. Now that I'm done with it shorter workouts have been happening.
I just started using arugula and love it! Trader Joe's has a cilantro dressing that is out of this world, although it doesn't have a very long shelf life.
ReplyDeleteMy other go to is Annie's Goddess dressing, but I only buy it if its on sale - its normally $5 a bottle!
Ok, the salad sounds good, but the dressing sounds even better. I like a nice light vinaigrette, even something fruity or mustard-y.
ReplyDeleteYay for a new product review - sounds great!
ReplyDeleteQuestions: What’s your favorite salad dressing? right now it's cilantro salad dressing! Do you like arugula? Yes! very much. If so, what’s your favorite way to eat it? I like it in salads, and only like it cold!
Im across the board with arugula. Ive enjoyed it at times but other times I find it too peppery. I try to keep an open mind!
ReplyDeleteYummy yummy salad. I usually like a balsamic vinaigrette for my salad. If nothing else my second choice would usually be casaer. But I ain't picky. :)
ReplyDeleteThat vinegar sounds just delicious!
ReplyDeleteThis salad sounds amazing! Sometimes just changing out a few ingredients can really change up a salad. I am going have to try using arugula..never used it with salads before.
You have to make that dressing it is my new favorite home made dressing, I found the recipe on her blog too. I found the fig jam at Cost Plus. The vinegar is the star of the dressing and I think Apricot jam would be fine in the dressing if you can't get the fig.
ReplyDeleteThat salad does look good! I'm going to pick up that vinegar next time I'm in Trader Joe's. Yeah, our csa veggies are usually pretty dirty too. I'm not great at washing them. I just tell myself more probiotics. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love that vinegar from TJ's as well. Arugula - like best in salad, second best on top of pizza. One of my favorite greens.
ReplyDeleteI love your simple version of the citrus dressing. I will have to try it this weekend.
