Sweet Temptations

A few days ago, I picked up a cinnamon infused broom from Trader Joe’s. I put it near the front door and whenever I step into the house, it smells like sweet cinnamon. The smell is quite strong, but it works great in our downstairs space. It’s my little  guilt-free “sweet fix.” Having part of the house smell like cinnamon made me realize how important smells are and that they can really affect your mood…

The cinnamon flavor always reminds me of the pumpkin ice cream I also picked up at Trader Joe’s.

Such a nice treat, but not quite as guilt-free. Winking smile My mini ramekins really help with portion control though… Smile

Question: What are some of your recent sweet temptations?

Be well,
Andrea

  5. This definitely reminds me that I read something last year about put cinnamon sticks and orange peels in boiling water to provide a nice sent in the kitchen. It works wonders, and I need to do that again.

I LOVE pumpkin ice cream. It's so delicious. I didn't even know TJ's had their own! After this elimination diet I'll give it a try.

  7. Cute broom - I love the pumpkins/squashes by the front door, too! You're exactly right that smells are so important to mood. One of my professors studies taste and smell and how they relate to food habits and mood. It's fascinating stuff!

Nice job with the portion control ;) My boss recently gave me a piece of a gluten-free carrot cake that was out of the world!

  16. I have been all over cookies lately for some reason. Chocolate chip cookies to be exact.

I'll be making some chocolate clusters (http://gethealthywithheather.wordpress.com/2010/07/02/no-chocolate-try-carob/) this weekend to help with my sweet tooth :)

  17. That cinnamon does sound like a guilt-free delight :) And I'm glad I'm not the only one who eats ice cream out of mini ramekins! My husband thinks I'm nuts, but it definitely works for portion control! And I can make my 1 portion or less last just as long or longer than his 4+ servings!!
