Easy Dinner Courtesy of Newman’s Own

A few weeks ago, we got a box of goodies from Newman’s Own through the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program. We received three bottles of salad dressing, three jars of tomato sauce, a coupon for a free pizza as well as a flip cam to record a video.

Frozen pizza and a salad is often my go-to meal when things get really hectic. And so after a long, exhausting day, we decided to make the pizza and a salad. We were also supposed to make a video, which was pretty funny at times due to a deliriously tired toddler kid… We all enjoyed the pizza and the salad dressing. The roasted garlic pasta sauce was nice as a dipping sauce, and I liked the level of “garlickyness.”

Thanks Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program and Newman’s Own for a quick, easy, and yummy dinner and for a fun, yet surreal, time making the video!

Question: What’s your go-to meal when life gets hectic?

Be well,
Andrea

  1. Hi Andrea! Your little sous chef is adorable! He's going to be a real chef by the time he's in his teens with all you're teaching him! Loved this videa--you're such a fun mom! And little son is quick a little joker, isn't he! He reminds me of how my teen son was when he was that little.

I often buy Newmans Own Sockarooni spaghetti sauce. It's affordable and has good flavor.

  3. Ok, so...I never knew you pronounced your name like that! I always Americanized it AndrEa, instead of Andr(A)a. I don't know how to explain that better....but I think you get it. Now I'll start pronouncing (or thinking of....) your name correctly!

Now that' he's four he's turned into a little sparty pants :) IN such a cute way, of course. The quick meal sounds wonderful. I love Newman's wn!

  4. Love Newman's Own! Unfortunately my go-to is usually a Lean Cuisine with added veggies. I love making pizza, I'll have to try the sauce!

LOL @ toddler saying "make it hot as fire"!!!! Tell him I'm totally stealing that line!!

My go-to for hectic nights is breakfast for dinner. Easy and always a hit :)

  6. Great little helper there in the kitchen! I loved getting to hear your voice, you have a beautiful accent.

I recently made a very easy quick lasagna that uses ravioli http://nutmegnotebook.com/2011/10/last-minute-lasagna/

These Turkey Burgers with Feta cheese go together quickly and often show up on our menu.

  7. This is the second Andrea video I have watched and I have to say, I love them! You're such a cool mom and I pretty much take what you say as gospel :) I even tried keeping a basil plant after watching your basil plant video but I had to buy Greek Columnar basil and it looks like a tree and it is un-happy in my window! LOL. It was very nice while it lasted though.

Thank you for always being there Andrea!

  8. So cute! Someone is in a silly mood...maybe the same someone adorably asking for "abocado" and eating the cheese off the pizza in the end ;)

A while back I think you did a similar post with Newman's Own Light Caesar. I haven't been able to find it in stores anywhere :( Would you mind asking your contact (or maybe they'll read this) if it is still on shelves?

My favorite "go to" meal are canned soups with a fresh salad and bread :)

When life gets hectic, pasta is usually my go-to - I almost always have sauce in my freezer which helps!

  14. How fun is this video??? And he may be four, but he's still "the toddler" in my eyes, and is adorable. Thanks for sharing a little slice of life with us. Have a wonderful week.

  15. Cute video! I really like Newman's dressings. I haven't see the pizza. His dressings make terrific marinades for chicken and pork too.
