Sentence a Day: April 2019

Monday, April 1, 2019
Andy and I are on spring break this week, and we decided to go on a hike in search of wildflowers; we found some at Edgewood Park, but they weren't in full bloom yet. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful hike.


Tuesday, April 2, 2019
Our fridge and freezer broke back in January, and we lived with a mini fridge ever since. I'm so glad we went and bought a new fridge/freezer today after our gym workout.

Wednesday, April 3, 2019
We started the day with a workout at the gym and then ran a bunch of errands and got my tires rotated; we were reminded by the serviceman that we had them installed exactly a year ago (during spring break) and that they should have been rotated months ago. Oops. In the afternoon, we went to Happy Hour at Rootstock.

Andy and I took a barre class at The Barre Code in Sunnyvale; we knew right away that we would be very sore.... 

Friday, April 5, 2019
The new fridge/freezer was delivered!!! How was I able to function so long with only a mini fridge??? I also took a great mat Pilates class at PhysioFit in Los Altos.

We went on a short hike at Wunderlich Park, where it was very green but also very muddy. 


Sunday, April 7, 2019
I started the day with a barre class, we visited my father-in-law at the nursing home and we had a relaxing and quiet time the rest of the day, which was just what we needed. 

Monday, April 8, 2019
I started the day with a 6 a.m. express barre class, and it was the first day of the spring quarter; the kid had a musical performance at school; he had several solo singing parts and did great. 

Tuesday, April 9, 2019
After not being able to work out for months and then restricted workouts, I'm finally back to intense workouts. I'm so thankful I was able to take a barre class and walk 15,000 steps. I'm feeling like me again!

After months of being sick, the kid was able to go back to choir; he was so happy.

I started the day with a barre class and then got a lot of work done.

A busy day getting things done.

Saturday, April 13, 2019
I started the day with a barre class; later in the day, Andy was a judge at the Bacon & Beer Classic at Avaya Stadium - always a good time.



Sunday, April 14, 2019
I started the day with another barre class (necessary after yesterday's beer & bacon!), we visited my father-in-law, and I got a lot of work done.

Monday, April 15, 2019
I took an early morning barre class; since the kid is on spring break, we went to the park and played basketball in the afternoon.

Tuesday, April 16, 2019
I took a Total Body Conditioning class, which was humbling. Since we aren't able to go anywhere for spring break, we got tickets for the 7:30 p.m. Aladdin show (not possible on a school night) - it was a wonderful show!

The kid and I went on a long hike in the afternoon.

Thursday, April 18, 2019
We went on a 5-mile hike in the morning; in the afternoon, Andy and I got to spend some time at the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley.



Friday, April 19, 2019
We drove to Half Moon Bay and went on a nice walk along the coast; then we had a delicious meal at Sam's Chowderhouse. In the evening, Andy and I got to see a very inspiring talk by Dan Buettner on how to live to 100+.




Saturday, April 20, 2019
I took an early morning barre class, we went to the park and ran some laps, visited my father-in-law and got caught up on life the rest of the day.

Sunday, April 21, 2019
We had a nice Easter with the older kid and his wife.

Monday, April 22, 2019
I injured my ankle and had surgery when I was 16 and re-injured it many times; in fact, I got used to living with ankle/knee/hip pain on my right side. I finally got it checked out by a chiropractor and am hopeful that I will be able to alleviate some of the pain for good.

I started the day with another Total Body Conditioning class and then got a lot of work done.

Another busy day, but I made time for a long neighborhood walk.

I started the day with another barre class and then did more work.

Friday, April 26, 2019
The kid had his first school soccer game; sadly they lost, but everyone had a great time.

We went on a beautiful hike at Huddart Park in Woodside.


Sunday, April 28, 2019
I started the day with a tough barre class but, unfortunately, didn't feel well for the rest of the day.

Monday, April 29, 2019
I took a yin/yang yoga class in the morning, which was a wonderful way to start the week. In the afternoon, we got some Mochi Donuts at the pop up at Mitsuwa (they make them fresh to order!) - it's not uncommon for people to wait between 1.5 and 3 hours or more, but we got lucky and only waited 20 minutes. They donuts were delicious, especially the passion fruit ones.

Unfortunately, I had an upset stomach all day long.
