Germany Travel Wardrobe

We just came back from a trip to Germany, and I managed to pack less than in the past. I kept colors mainly neutral but added a few pops of color. Overall, everything worked very well together.

To try to assure that everything worked together, I tried on several outfits before we left and took photos for reference during the trip. Obviously, there are many more combos, and I combined pretty much all tops with all bottoms on the trip.

And here are some of the outfits in Germany, "in real life."

Questions: What have you been wearing this summer? Any favorites?

Be well,

That's a great travel wardrobe! I especially like the skirt with the black top.

  2. I hope you had a great trip, Andrea??
I've learned that trying things on before I go is key...at least for me. I forget less that way, and have an idea of how things will work together in shape as well as color!!
I'm still a terrible over packer though...it's just hard for me to be a minimalist!

    1. It was a challenging and difficult trip in many ways, but we are very thankful for the time we got to spend with everyone.

Even though I packed less than ever before, I still didn't wear everything and could have taken even less...

  4. I think it's a good idea to fit everything before packing. The tip that you once gave, years ago, was to pack matching colours and that is what I always do now!

    1. Thanks, Nancy! Yes, colors that go together are so important! I learned that the hard way years ago when I packed individual outfits and nothing went together. I felt uncomfortable the entire trip since I felt I had nothing to wear despite a full suitcase...

  6. You did a wonderful job of packing clothing that all mixed and matched with each other! I love the idea of trying on outfits prior to leaving and referencing them during your trip. I love that red necklace you are wearing in several photos!

What fun style you have! Unfortunately, I am an over packer. Possibly due to mostly taking 'driving trips' and few flying. There always seems to be room to fit in one more thing.

  8. You are so great at planning out outfits for trips. I just love the outfits with that chevron skirt and also the ones with the looser fit pants with the vertical stripes.

  12. Hope you found your parents well and enjoyed a wonderful visit with them. You sure look fantastic. What a great job making each piece you packed work for several outfits. Love the colorful backdrop in the pic where you are soaking your tootsies. And Palazzo pants were made with you in mind! You should wear them regularly. Really lovely.

    1. Thanks, Leslie! It was a very tough trip in many ways, but we tried to concentrate on the positive and made the best of everything. I'm still getting used to the Palazzo pants as they are a bit out of my comfort zone...
