Sentence a Day: May 2018

Tuesday, May 1, 2018
I started the day with a barre class, did a few hours of grading and prep work, took the kid to piano practice and my aunt and I spent several hours talking.


Wednesday, May 2, 2018 
I taught my class, went to a barre class, and in the afternoon we went to the farmers' market in Santana Row where we bought delicious cherries and a fabulous crusty bread.
 

Thursday, May 3, 2018
My aunt and I went to the kid's school for his movie presentation and then to Stanford Shopping Center where we enjoyed all the beautiful flowers.




Friday, May 4, 2018
I started the day with a barre class, taught my 3-hour class, went out to lunch with my aunt and then spent the rest of the day at home, relaxing and talking with my aunt.



Saturday, May 5, 2018
The older kid took my aunt to San Francisco, and I went to a barre class, picked up the kid from German school, got pizza for lunch, did laundry, went grocery shopping and took the kid to a birthday party in the afternoon.



Sunday, May 6, 2018
We drove to the Central Coast to look at some property for sale; we also stopped by Wolff Vineyards and enjoyed our time relaxing on their patio and sipping some wine.



Monday, May 7, 2018
The day trip to the Central Coast before and the looong drive back left me tired, but I still made it to my barre class at lunchtime.


Tuesday, May 8, 2018
I started the day with a barre class and some work and then took my aunt to the Rose Garden where we admired the endless roses and enjoyed taking photos.



Wednesday, May 9, 2018
I took a break from barre today as I had very little energy, but we made it to the farmers' market in the afternoon where we bought the most amazing bread and tasty cherries.

Thursday, May 10, 2018
It was a busy day of grading, cleaning, and getting ready for our trip to Lake Tahoe tomorrow.

Friday, May 11, 2018
We left for Tahoe right after my 3-hour class and were rewarded with the most beautiful sunset.

Saturday, May 12, 2018
We went on a lovely hike with great views of the lake in the morning before it started to rain in the afternoon.


Sunday, May 13, 2018
We enjoyed some more views of the lake, the kid got to go to the arcade, we did a little shopping and then drove home leisurely.

Monday, May 14, 2018
Work, barre class, grocery shopping, laundry - trying to get caught up after a weekend away.

Tuesday, May 15, 2018
I did a lot of grading in the morning, and we went to Hakone Gardens in Saratoga in the afternoon, where we spent a relaxing hour.



Wednesday, May 16, 2018
I gave a midterm in the morning and then got some training at the barre studio where I'll be working for a few hours a week.

Thursday, May 17, 2018
I did Day 4 of the barre challenge, graded for a few hours and then went to the kid's Open House at his school in the evening.



Friday, May 18, 2018
I taught my 3-hour class, and then we took my aunt out for Korean food; in the evening the older kid and his fiancée came over.



Saturday, May 19, 2018
I took the sixth barre class in a row for the challenge, and later in the day it was time to say goodbye to my aunt and take her to the airport.

Sunday, May 20, 2018
I woke up not feeling well and took it easy all day.

Monday, May 21, 2018
Work, barre class, grocery shopping - getting caught up on life.

Tuesday, May 22, 2018
Andy and I went to a fabulous Orin Swift Wine Dinner at Il Fornaio in Palo Alto.



Wednesday, May 23, 2018
I felt some after effects from yesterday's wine dinner today.

Thursday, May 24, 2018
I met up with a good friend and her baby; it was so good to catch up.

Friday, May 25, 2018
I gave the last midterm; not looking forward to grading them....

Saturday, May 26, 2018
I took my future daughter-in-law and her best friend dress shopping; we found a dress, shoes, and had a nice lunch.



Sunday, May 27, 2018
We drove to the Sacramento area so that I could attend my friend Lara's practice barre class; later in the day, we hung out at Lara's house.


Monday, May 28, 2018
We stopped by the Vacaville Outlets on the way home where the boys stocked up on essentials; we also ate some yummy foods and had some delicious drinks at Tahoe Joe's.

Grading, barre class, housework - trying to get caught up on life.

I have lots of grading to do, so I didn't make it to my lunchtime barre class; I really missed it.

Thursday, May 31, 2018
Started the day with a walk, did a couple hours of grading, worked at my new "fun job" at the barre studio, took a barre class, and then went to the soft opening of Gentry in Cupertino - it was a full day.

  4. Really admire your dedication and hard work at barre. I have two more classes paid for but after that I don't think I will be able to continue. Not only is it very challenging for me (although, I would hope it would get somewhat easier), but it is an expense I can't afford right now. But you amaze me!

    Looks like you enjoyed a good visit with your aunt. Hope your parents are doing well. Any plans to return to Germany this summer?

    The photo of you and Andy on May 6, is one of my all-time favs. You both look happy, relaxed and in love. Are you wearing your hair a little differently? Slightly shorter, maybe? It is adorable, whatever the case.
