Question: What were your highlights in June? Are you going to join us this month and write one sentence a day? There is still time to catch up and write one sentence a day for each day in July.  It’s lots of fun to look back at the month; I promise.

Be well,

  1. I am sorry to read that you are not feeling 100% healthy but, yes there is something good in every day and your June is fully of happiness Andrea! I like the photo of you and your kid on the huge chair: you two look so tiny!!
Hope you will feel better soon...

    1. Thanks, Dan! Thankfully, we are finally feeling better. The big chairs were a lot of fun for sure!

  2. It seems like the older I get, the longer it takes to get over any sickness---ugh!! But it sounds like you're getting better---yay!!
Congrats to the kid---what a fabulous honor to win a writing contest!!
Hopefully next month will be much more relaxing!!

    1. Thanks, Jodie! July should be a lot more relaxing... :-)

  3. Hope you're feeling better and having lots of fun this summer. It's fantastic that your son won a writing contest. It seems challenging to find a reliable handy person everywhere.

    1. Thanks, Natalie! I was really disappointed in the handyman; he is having a hard time, and I really wanted to help him out...

  4. Man I feel ya on that cough thing, have that right now, not getting any sleep because of it! Looks like the summer is shaping up to be fun one, lots of pool time I see!

    1. I hope you'll feel better soon! We were sick for over a month... I know I should have gotten checked out by my doctor as it was a very painful and deep cough...

  5. Hi Andrea,

Your month of June sounds wonderful. And I like how often you went to the pool. Your new haircut is so pretty.

    1. Thanks, Miri! Yes, pool time is on my summer bucket list... :-)

  6. Anonymous7/06/2017

Sounds like June was a much better month for you than May!

  7. This sentence a day looks a lot of fun and so many bloggers participating in it! Your kid got out a month after mine! We are already starting to think about back to school, which I hate. Beach and pool days sound so relaxing!

    1. You should join us in writing a sentence a day, Carrie! I've been doing it now for six months and loved looking back at the first half of 2017!

Yes, the kid got out very late. And since my college is on the quarter system, I got out even later... It does feel by the time we are done, others are already getting ready to get back to school... Since the kid is switching schools, he'll have a short break...

  8. Lovely to read your month! That big chair and pool looks fun and your weather looks warmer than ours at the moment, down here in Australia it's winter time. Enjoy.

    1. Thanks, Deb! We are determined to take full advantage of the pool this year... :-)

  9. What a varied month and I'm glad your cough has improved. They can be painful can't they? I loved that photo of you in the big chair and lots of smiles throughout the month. Congratulations on your son's win in the essay competition. Bring on July! Sue from Sizzling Towards 60 & Beyond

    1. Thanks, Sue! The cough was really bad, deep and painful. I know I should have really gotten it checked out by my doctor...

      Have a wonderful July!

  10. Hi Andrea! So nice to meet a fellow educator! Do you teach at a university? This is Terri from Second Wind Leisure Perspectives (google shows me as Terri M). Love your June sentences and all of your leisure activities. Sorry to read about your illness, hope you have shaken it off! I also read on your about me page that you are German by birth. My hubby was born to German parents in Chile, so he loves his German heritage :) I liked your example of the sentence a day..for July I need to take more photos of me doing stuff :)

    1. Hi Terri, I teach at a community college. Nice to meet you, too. I always have to remind myself to take photos, but I'm always glad at the end of the month.

  11. Sweet friend, you really were sick for far too long. Hope you are beginning to feel back to normal.

Your kids are such a great combination of the two of you. Handsome lads. Well done, mom!

What plant is sitting on your patio table? Rosemary? Just shared your plants to keep bugs away video. I might be able to keep smaller, potted versions of some of the plants alive. But have planted rosemary, lavender, sage, marigolds and all dead. Waaa!

The back-lit photo from the aquarium is stunning. I am going to try very hard to take pics with my good camera this summer. As soon as I can figure out how to turn it on.

Thank you so much for joining us these past six months. I truly feel a friendship and connection to you, Andrea. XO

  12. I enjoyed reading your June recap, Andrea! Glad you are feeling better!

  13. Glad to see you are feeling better! That aquarium visit looks like fun!

  14. Ooooh! That cold sounds horrible!

I had one like that a few years ago the deep coughing made my ribs hurt. Looks like you had a lot of fun adventures with your big and medium size kiddos fun!

  15. I hope that cugh and cold has disappeared now Andrea! Quite a busy time for you too! I didn't know the Sentence a day was a link up. I will join next time. xx
