Leopard Print Flats

I've been wanting some animal print flats forever. In fact, I started joking that by the time I got around to buying some, the trend will be long gone. But I honestly think that just a touch of animal print will never go out of style.

When I came across the leopard print flats, I fell in love right away. And what is even better is that they are super comfortable. I decided to wear them the day after I bought them with an all black outfit, and I like the interest they add.

Can you spot my little photo bomber in the next photo?

Embroidered Denim Jacket in Downtown San Jose

Last July, I bought an embroidered denim jacket in a local boutique, but I haven't really worn it until recently. I actually don't really know why it took me so long to wear it as I still really love embroidery, and I know I will love the jacket for years.

Denim Jacket - ON SALE

Under the denim jacket, I'm wearing the J. Crew Factory New York tee. They also have tees for London, Paris and San Francisco. I think they'd all be really cute for spring.

Questions: Do you own any embroidered items? If so, what's your favorite? Are you planning on adding any new tees to your closet for spring?

Cold Weather Travel Wardrobe and Germany Highlights

Living in California, it was not easy for me to pack for a two-week trip to Germany in December as I don't have true winter clothes. I planned quite a bit and am happy to say that everything worked out quite well.

I tried on most of the outfits before I packed to make sure everything worked out the way I had envisioned it. I had learned a hard lesson during our summer vacation when I hadn't tried on anything and just put together outfits in my head and then nothing worked out the way I wanted it to.

I bought a plain, grey jacket and decided to liven it up a bit with a colorful scarf, hat, and gloves. The gloves, hat and scarf were my favorite purchase in preparation for the trip.
Here are a few of my favorite views of my hometown - Würzburg. Würzburg is the starting point of the Romantic Road and is therefore quite the tourist destination.

Since it was Christmas time, we had fun visiting the Christmas Market a few times.

When I'm "home," I always have to do a little shopping as I love to wear clothes and accessories that I buy on trips. Wearing them always transports me back to the trip. I plan on wearing the heart sweater on Valentine's Day.

I have an especially hard time passing up the Desigual outlet...

Paige Bell Bottom Jeans in Sacramento

A few weeks ago, I went on a little road trip to the Sacramento area. I was excited that my Paige Bell Bottom Jeans fit again because I love the way they feel and look. And, let's be honest, nothing feels better than being able to fit into jeans again that had been too tight for a while.

I've had the pink Coach travel bag for years, and it's been on countless trips. It always comes with me on longer trips as it folds and can be stored in a little pouch and is therefore perfect when you need some extra luggage.

The first stop was Old Town Sacramento. Even though it's very touristy, it was a fun place to check out for a bit.

The next day I got up bright and early to take a barre class with my friend Lara. Lara and I met through our blogs in 2009. At the time she lived in England, then she lived in the Bay Area for a while, moved out of state for several years, and is now back in the Sacramento area. I'm glad that we've been able to nurture our friendship over the years.

Her younger son turned two, and I wasn't going to miss the party. I wore my Paige Bell Bottom Jeans with a blue and white Tommy Hilfiger sweater.

It was fun to check out the Federalist in Sacramento with some friends. I loved the kombucha as well as the polenta and the kale salad.

And, of course, when there is a mural wall, you have to take photos.

And I absolutely loved the pink house we came across.

As you may have noticed, I've been absent from the blog for a couple of months. December was a hectic month as I finished up the fall quarter and prepared for our trip to Germany. I was very glad I got to visit my parents, but things were not easy. And, unfortunately, Andy's dad suffered another stroke while we were in Germany, so January was another difficult month.

My blog has always been my happy place, and I'm glad to be back!
