The Fairmont SF Penthouse & the New Seeker Project

The Fairmont San Francisco Penthouse Suite

Over the years, Andy and I have visited several penthouse suites, but none compare to the Penthouse Suite of The Fairmont in San Francisco, which we were able to visit during a media event earlier this week.

The suite was built in the 1920s and was a private residence up until the 1980s. At that time, it underwent extensive renovations, but luckily, the history and charm of the original rooms was kept intact. While the space is easily one of the most elegant and sophisticated ones I have been to, it is at the same time welcoming and not intimidating. In fact, I felt right at home.

My outfit even matched part of the decor...

And how fun is it to play pool in this brilliant billiard room that is covered with handcrafted Persian tiles?

The two-story library is simply breathtaking.

One of the bedrooms is covered with a hand-painted map. The world looked quite different 100 years ago...

Since the suite was so inviting, I didn't hesitate to sit down and relax a bit...

It's hard to pick my favorite part of the suite, but the terrace with its stunning views is hard to beat.

The Seeker Project

A fun activity during the media night was completing a short biometric assessment that helps takers find out where to take their next vacations. There is also an online version that was just launched, and you can take the assessment yourself at www.seekerproject.com. Give it a try as it's fun and may point you in a direction you haven't thought of, as was the case for me.

Thank you to The Fairmont San Francisco and all the representatives from the other Fairmont hotels. The evening was truly memorable and unforgettable. While I won't be able to afford a night in the Penthouse Suite anytime soon (it's $18,000/night), I'm more determined than ever to spend a night in The Fairmont in San Francisco for a local getaway. And, thanks to the Seekers project, I also have ideas for other places to visit!

Yellow and White

This post contains affiliate links, and www.andreswellnessnotes.com will benefit from actions taken on the links.

I don't wear a lot of yellow as it can be quite the challenge to find a shade of yellow that looks good on me. When I saw the yellow top in Germany, I liked the shade of yellow right away and thought that it may work with my coloring. I tried it on and liked the way it looked.

I decided to wear the top with white jeans and my silver lace up flats (most likely the best shoe purchase ever; I bought them three years ago for $12 (reduced from $125) and have worn them pretty much every week as they are super comfortable and go with everything; they still look great and I look forward to many more wears).

I really love the bell sleeves.

I wore the outfit to a sustainability event and dinner at the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose. There are lots of exciting and promising things in the works to help save our planet.

Outfit Details: White Jeans, Yellow Top (option 1, option 2, option 3), Silver Lace Up Flats (option 1, option 2, option 3

Question: Do you like wearing yellow?

Germany Travel Wardrobe

We just came back from a trip to Germany, and I managed to pack less than in the past. I kept colors mainly neutral but added a few pops of color. Overall, everything worked very well together.

To try to assure that everything worked together, I tried on several outfits before we left and took photos for reference during the trip. Obviously, there are many more combos, and I combined pretty much all tops with all bottoms on the trip.

And here are some of the outfits in Germany, "in real life."

Questions: What have you been wearing this summer? Any favorites?
