Andy and I are on spring break this week, and we decided to go on a hike in search of wildflowers; we found some at Edgewood Park, but they weren't in full bloom yet. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful hike.

Our fridge and freezer broke back in January, and we lived with a mini fridge ever since. I'm so glad we went and bought a new fridge/freezer today after our gym workout.

Wednesday, April 3, 2019
We started the day with a workout at the gym and then ran a bunch of errands and got my tires rotated; we were reminded by the serviceman that we had them installed exactly a year ago (during spring break) and that they should have been rotated months ago. Oops. In the afternoon, we went to Happy Hour at Rootstock.

Thursday, April 4, 2019
Andy and I took a barre class at The Barre Code in Sunnyvale; we knew right away that we would be very sore....

Friday, April 5, 2019

I took an early morning barre class; since the kid is on spring break, we went to the park and played basketball in the afternoon.

Tuesday, April 16, 2019
I took a Total Body Conditioning class, which was humbling. Since we aren't able to go anywhere for spring break, we got tickets for the 7:30 p.m. Aladdin show (not possible on a school night) - it was a wonderful show!

I took a yin/yang yoga class in the morning, which was a wonderful way to start the week. In the afternoon, we got some Mochi Donuts at the pop up at Mitsuwa (they make them fresh to order!) - it's not uncommon for people to wait between 1.5 and 3 hours or more, but we got lucky and only waited 20 minutes. They donuts were delicious, especially the passion fruit ones.

  1. I can't believe you lived with a mini fridge for SO long. Heck, I have an extra fridge in my garage. You would think I cook a lot...I don't, but for some reason, I like having food around...ha ha!!

    1. Initially, I purposefully delayed buying a new fridge as I liked the idea of focusing on buying things fresh a couple times a week and going to the farmers' market more and buying just what we needed for the next meal or two. However, that got really old really quickly... I have to say, for now, I am more conscious of what I buy and "over buy" less. We'll see how long that lasts...

  2. Thank you for the kind words. I am weeks behind on blog reading since being in KY caring for my mama. So glad to read your sentences. Do NOT know how you survived months without a frig. You are a better woman than I.

Look at Andy doing barre. PC mentioned wanting to try it but when I came home whooped after 2 sessions, he changed his mine. You have done so well with your barre.

Your food photography is stunning. Good thing I can't gain weight by admiring your delicious eats. Like those doughnuts!!!

Always enjoy seeing pictures of the kid. He is growing up, mama. Handsome lad. Would love to take my grands to see a live performance of one of the fairy tales. Someday, maybe.

    1. Thanks so much, Leslie! And thanks again for always keeping us organized! If it weren't for my daily (or whenever I remember to catch up!) sentences, I'm not sure I would be blogging anymore.

  3. We've had lots of very green, wet, muddy hikes this month too. Those wildflowers are pretty! Not much is blooming here yet but I know it's coming soon as we FINALLY had two days of sunshine this week.

    1. I'm sure the wildflowers will be worth the wait!

  4. You certainly put me to shame with the amount of fitness classes you took! My mother in law is 92, I wonder if she does many of the ideas they had at the 100+ talk? She swears by a glass of sherry before lunch every day - is that the answer to longevity do you think?!

    1. Red wine is definitely part of the plan! ;-) Other things are a mainly plant-based diet (a little meat about four times a month), strong social bonds, and staying active and having a purpose.

  5. I take barre classes too, and I was really really surprised how intense the classes are! But they are fun, and I really enjoy them!

    1. Yes, barre workouts are very intense! When I first started taking barre classes 10 years ago, I had very bad low back pain. The barre classes did wonders for the low back pain, and I have been without low back pain for years now.
