Farmers' Market In Pictures & Weekly Meals (Aug. 4 - Aug. 7)

We made it to the Farmers' Market again. Instead of showing you what I got (lots of fruits & veggies), I thought I'd show you some pictures of the actual market for a change. I love Farmers' Markets because of the following:

Lots of fresh, yummy veggies...
And sweet, organic berries
And toddler-tested and approved peaches! :o)
Organic heirloom tomatoes - I didn't buy any since we have our own in the yard, but I have to admit that these are much prettier than our tomatoes...
Beautiful flowers
And gorgeous orchids - Don't you think hubby should buy me one??? Hint, hint... ;o)
Okay, on to this week's meals:

Tuesday: Hubby doesn't know it yet, but he'll make "his" Lemon Pasta. The sauce is basically olive oil, lemon juice, Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, & lots of basil. And I'll make a mushroom salad - thinly sliced mushrooms dressed with lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper & herbs.

Wednesday: Stuffed, baked bell peppers. I'll cut the bell peppers in half and stuff them with a brown rice/sauteed veggie mixture and top them with some cheese. I'll bake them on a bed of organic tomato sauce at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes.

Thursday: Homemade pizza adventure. Again, thanks for all your pizza suggestions! I will (attempt to) make Alison's whole wheat pizza crust. I haven't decided on the toppings yet, but I think I'll experiment with a few different ones. I'll let you know how it goes! We'll also have a salad.

Friday: It's Salad Friday, and we'll have a healthy Cobb Salad with lots of veggies, eggs, grilled organic chicken & some awesome raw cheese (if we make it to the Farmers' Market earlier that day...).

Questions: Did you do anything fun over the weekend? (Hubby made me clear out and clean the garage with him; not a lot of fun, but I'm glad it's done!) What meals are you going to have today or this week?

Be well,
Andrea
