Germany Travel Wardrobe

Last year, I put a lot of time and effort into planning our trip to Germany in December. Since we live in a warm climate and don't go skiing anymore, I also had to buy several pieces of clothing for everyone, including thermal underwear to make our "fake winter clothes" work in a much colder climate.

This year, I'm going to visit my parents by myself for a week, and the trip somewhat snuck up on me. Luckily, I documented what I took last year on Instagram, and since everything worked very well together, I'm pretty much copying everything exactly.

The only items I bought new this year are a pink scarf, a hat and gloves. I really like pale pinks and grey together, and since my winter jacket is grey, I thought it would be perfect. I also snagged them on major sale and used an awards certificate, so all three items came to less than $50. I love the weight and warmth of the scarf; it's definitely going to keep we warm.

 Details: Scarf, Hat, Gloves

Questions: What are your plans for the holidays? Did you buy yourself a gift this year?

  2. That's so smart to basically take the same outfits, Andrea!! I think we all need this kind of wardrobe capsule for travelling...especially if it's the same time of year!

    1. Yes! Capsule travel wardrobes are a great idea. I do it actually a lot in the summer for our (long) weekend trips to the coast. Taking essentially the same pieces makes packing quick and efficient.

Hope that you are having a nice start to your week and are looking forward to Christmas :)

  4. Good idea to document it! You wrote years ago on the blog to use a color theme! That s what I always do now as I always took items that didn t match together! That was so enoying.

    1. Yes, sticking to a few colors really helps! I used to take just what I liked and nothing went together...

  5. You are so wise and use such common sense for packing. I am all over the place, trying to wear lots of different colors, which means different shoes and accessories. I think to myself 'mom might like to see me in blue' and 'mom might like to see me in red'. I need to buy a rainbow striped sweater and be done with it.
Love pink and gray together. Such a soft, feminine palette. Hope you enjoyed a very special time with your parents and that you found them healthy and happy.
