Skin Care Over 40

As I’m getting older, I have realized the importance of consistent skin care, and I clean and moisturize my skin very diligently twice a day. At the moment, I’m not using a skin care “system” but selected individual products that I have found through trial and error that work well for my skin. Here are three of the products I currently love.

Skin Care over 40 1

Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Day Tint, SPF 15*: I adore this daily moisturizer with just a hint of color. I discovered it because I had received a deluxe sample and loved it. It’s super moisturizing and lightweight and feels wonderful on my skin. Plus, I love the natural look.

Peter Thomas Roth Glycolic Acid 10% Hydrating Gel*: I have been using this gel for over a year and make sure I never run out of it. I have found that a little goes a long way. When I first started using the gel, I put it on every other night so that my skin could get used to the glycolic acid. After a few weeks, I started using it every night, and I believe my skin has become a lot smoother. Plus, before using the gel I had the occasional breakout, but since I have been using it, I haven’t had one.

Frownies Facial Patches for Wrinkles on the Forehead and Between Eyes*: My dad has had the biggest “worry lines” between his eyes for as long as I can remember. He has always looked much younger than he is, but the worry lines have always been VERY pronounced. And I have noticed that I started to get some worry lines myself. I was therefore excited when Frownies contacted me and asked if they could send me some “wrinkle patches.” Frownies are supposed to retrain the underlying muscle. I believe my worry lines are less visible after using the patches for just a few weeks. Basically, you put the patches on at night and take them off in the morning. To activate the patches, you need to use the Frownies Rose Water Hydrator Spray. In addition to the forehead and between eyes patches, there are also Frownies Eyes Mouth Wrinkle Reducer Patches specifically designed for the corners of the eyes and mouth. I’ll continue to fight those worry lines!

  4. The wrinkle patches sounds great. I see them more and more when I edit my pictures and I don't like it. I used Dr. Brand now for a few months but I am not satisfied. So this is interesting.

    1. Thanks, Nancy! The patches are definitely a different way to "attack" wrinkles, and I see results I didn't see with creams, etc.

  6. Hey sugar! I have missed reading your blog. I think I am back, at least for now. So glad to read that you use Peter Roth's product, too. I love it and have seen a difference with it. I have been using Valentia products lately and have seen an improvement in the lighting of my AGE spots. Have called them freckles for too long. Time to call them for what they are. Will put the Frownies and tinted moisturizer on my Amazon wish list. XO

    1. Glad you are back to blogging! Hope things stay good! I'll have to look into Valentia products; I have a couple quite big age spots that really bother me and nothing I have tried has really helped...

  8. The Dr. Jart tinted moisturizer sounds right up my alley. I don't wear foundation, but would love a bit of evening color, this would be the best, having 2 products in one. And the wrinkle patches sound so cool. I have the worry lines between my eyes, I have come by them honestly but the entire world doesn't have to know that, do they? LOL Thanks.

    1. The tinted moisturizer is great, I love that it adds just a little color and evens out my skin tone.

The patches are a great invention and very different from using a cream. And, yes, not everyone has to know that we worried a lot! :-)
