Why A Scarf is A Great Souvenir

When we were in Munich, I spied a beautiful silk scarf on our first day there. To be honest, Andy actually saw it first. The scarf was quite pricey, and I debated whether to buy it for a day. But then I decided to get it, and I’m very glad I did as I know that it will bring me joy for many years to come and at the same time remind me of our time in Germany and Munich. Plus, scarves are light and small and therefore the perfect souvenir to bring back!

The scarf has a green side and a turquoise side, and I love both colors. I wore the scarf on a beer garden outing and borrowed my mom’s green purse (btw, I decided I needed a green purse myself and bought one. I’ll show it to you in a future post). I look forward to experimenting with the scarf some more, but here are a few ways I played with it.

If you have been reading this blog for a while or follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I LOVE scarves because they can easily transform a boring outfit. Here are a few scarves I would love to add to my collection:

Question: What was the last “extravagant” purchase you ended up making after some deliberation? Are you regretting it now, or are you glad you went for it?

Be well,
Andrea

  1. My mom loves scarfs so naturally I've been brain washed some and also "borrowed" a few of her good *cough Hermes cough* pieces. Last splurge I've made was my new camera and lens and not one spec of remorse because photos came out beautifully. Hope you have a day as lovely as you are.

    1. You are very lucky to be able to "borrow" your mom's scarves! :-) A great camera and lens is so worth it! My husband wanted a DSLR for years but, for some reason, decided not to get the model he really wanted. He has been regretting it a bit ever since...

  9. I love that it's reversible so you can play with more ways to style it. I agree that scarves are great souvenirs. They're one of the few souvenirs you can stock up on since they take up so little space! I bought my clan tartan scarf on a trip to Scotland and an embroidered tasseled scarf on my trip to Paris earlier this spring. They'll always remind me of my trips, and they never really go out of style either!

  10. Honestly, when on vacation, I never pause in purchasing things. Unless, of course, they're immensely pricey, because I may not have the chance again :) I'm glad you caved :)

  13. You're so right how scarves are a perfect accessory and lightweight so they're a great souvenir while traveling. This one from Munich is so pretty and even the pattern on it reminds me of Bavaria. We're actually flying to Frankfurt this weekend to visit my in-laws and I'm excited to be back in Germany. I haven't really had an extravagant purchases lately because everything is so reasonable in Dallas compared to Switzerland haha. Shopping is fun again ;) Great post Andrea and I love your green bag too

  18. This is such a pretty scarf and I love that it's easy to pack! I normally don't buy much when I travel, I am not into trinkets and rarely does something really catch my eye have to have.
