Chocolate Love

What’s your favorite dessert? Lately, I’ll have to say it’s a piece (or two) of good, dark chocolate. It’s funny that I say that, because growing up, I did not like chocolate AT ALL. In fact, I remember numerous times when I was seriously disappointed when I received chocolate as a gift. How times have changed…

I received an assortment of Ghirardelli chocolates through the Foodbuzz Tastemaker program, and I was very excited! Well, we all were!

The chocolates came with a great little booklet that lists what each chocolate pairs with. I loved it!

I right away looked through our wine fridge to find some wines to pair the chocolate with. Unfortunately, we never got around to pairing the chocolates with wine and other beverages because we were waiting for the “perfect moment” and we just couldn’t stop ourselves from eating them… Before we knew it, they were gone!

All the chocolates were delicious, but Sea Salt Soiree was definitely everyone’s winner. I couldn’t believe how much the toddler liked it!

Questions: Do you like chocolate? I know, for most people that’s a silly question… What’s your favorite type of chocolate? Do you ever pair chocolate with wine?

Be well,
Andrea

  3. The sea salt option looks AMAZING! I have to say, my favorite splurge treat is Haagen Dasz Chocolate Sorbet- so low in fat and definitely quenches my chocolate craving!

  6. I LOVE CHOCOLATE!

Over the years my taste changed from milk chocolate to the dark like you show here.
I never eat chocolate with wine, always with a cup of tea or coffee.

  9. truthfully, in my perfect world a cookie bar with marshmallow and hot fudge over a scoop of ice cream would be my perfect dessert.

I always hear about people pairing thier chocolate with wine but I don't drink enough wine to remember to crack out the chocolate.

  12. Chocolate and wine was pretty much my senior year of college. If we didn't go out, it was our girl time. It's what we did :) The toddler is so cute!

I am a milk chocolate lover, but I have really learned to love and appreciate both the taste and health benefits of dark chocolate and now...the darker the better :) My taste in beer and chocolate seem to grow together and I prefer more and more bitter as time goes on. Mmm!

  15. Mmmm, I love dark chocolate! I was just talking with someone yesterday about how they can't stand dark chocolate, and I suggested trying the dark chocolate plus sea salt, since it sort of cuts the bitterness a bit. I hope she tries it some time. I have never paired dark chocolate with wine (at least not on purpose) but I'd love to get one of those booklets so I can learn what pairs well together! Maybe that would help me enjoy wine a bit more :)

  18. Salt is essential to life and because our bodies cannot manufacture it, must be obtained externally. The human body needs only a couple hundred milligrams a day to stay healthy
