In the Kitchen with my Sous Chef (Video Post)

Over the weekend, the toddler and I spent some time in the kitchen, using some of the products we received through the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program and Newman’s Own. We also used the Flip Camera we received to record a video.

We decided to make a healthy, colorful, and tasty brown rice pasta salad with lots of veggies, including broccoli coleslaw mix, red and yellow peppers, mushrooms, peas, celery, and cucumber. We coated the pasta and the veggies with the juice of one lemon and then lightly dressed the salad with the Newman’s Own Lighten Up Caesar Dressing.

The salad turned out delicious!

If you want to see some of the fun my sous chef and I were having, check out the video we made:

Again, thanks Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program, Newman’s Own, and Flip Camera!

And thanks everyone for your continued support and your thoughts and prayers for my dad. We truly appreciate your support!

Questions: Do you like pasta salad? What’s in your favorite pasta salad?

Be well,
Andrea

I do like pasta salad but have to say I don't make it much myself. Usually eat it when I'm somewhere else.

  6. I love pasta salad, but only if not too oily. I have seen some doused in oil. I like pasta with veggies and black olives.

  12. I really enjoy your videos Andrea.
I think your sous chef was a little hungry :) And such a trooper too! He laughed when he got a squirt in the eye from the lemon!! I love it.

I don't eat pasta often, because I'm just not a big fan (I know, I'm an awful Italian!!!). I would rather eat a thick slice of hearty bread. However, I do like a good pasta salad every once in a while, especially when it's brown rice pasta!! Yum.

  15. He has to be the cutest sous chef I've ever seen! I'm not much of a pasta person. One serving is just so small to bother with and the size of serving I like is just too big. ;-)

SO CUTE! This had me cracking up with your little sous chef constantly reaching for the pasta. A kid after my own heart ;)

Looks like a yummy and healthy recipe...I'll have to try that dressing. I really love Newman's Own products.

Oh, just a thought, but I think the lemon is supposed to go the other way in the juicer thing? It's easier to press that way...:)

  29. @Lara: Yes!!! The lemon is supposed to go the other way in the lemon squeezer!!! I used to know that! Thanks for the reminder! :)
