Happy Weekend and Amazing Grass Giveaway Reminder

I hope you are enjoying your weekend! I’m looking forward to a nice, relaxing weekend. The toddler is finally getting over a bad cold and an ear infection. He has been pretty miserable for over a week and hasn’t slept much (and neither have we.) Hubby and I realized yesterday that without proper sleep for about a week, we turn into not the nicest people… :-) Hubby even suggested that I could readjust my attitude a bit… I have to admit that he may have had the slightest of points (and yes, my need of an attitude adjustment is kind of ironic when one considers how often I write about the importance of a positive attitude….) But it’s all good now. Nobody said that “life stuff” was easy, right?



And here is your final reminder about my Amazing Grass giveaway. The winner gets a box of 12 Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein bars. I love these bars and wish I could enter myself! :-) There are six ways to enter. The Amazing Grass giveaway  is open until tonight (Saturday, March 13) at 9:00 p.m. PST. I’ll hire the toddler tomorrow to draw the winner and will post the winner by tomorrow evening.

Questions: What are you up to this weekend? Do you function well without enough sleep? When I was younger, lack of sleep didn’t affect me much. But the older I get, the more I need my sleep. Not only am I cranky without sleep, but I also look old(er) (which makes me even crankier)…

And finally, Happy, Happy Birthday to my friend, Lara! Lara is a quarter of a century today. So young from where I’m looking… :-) From what I can tell from Twitter, she is having a great birthday weekend (she apparently didn’t get the memo that one is supposed to celebrate one’s birthday for a week; but it looks like she is making the most out of the weekend…).

  2. I feel like I need an abnormal amount of sleep, especially for a young person! I do not function well at all without it.

  3. I am definitely not nice when I'm sleep deprived... I turned to very bad manner and temper... nobody would want to get close to me.
    tons of work this weekend and a lot of leisure reading as well. Weather is really crappy here so I don't complain!

  4. I don't like getting little sleep, but I can function. Monday night I will teach, technically until Tuesday morning 3 am, and have to be at work at 7:30 am, so that should be fun.

  5. I LOVE sleep!! But I can usually function with less. Especially with the job I have, there have been nights when I don't get enough. But mostly sleep is almost like a friend. hahaha...

    This weekend I get to spend some time with my goddaughter. I'm super excited about that.

    I read Lara's blog and thought your picture looked familiar when you commented on Health-Foodie! Great blog! Keep up the good work :smile:
    I actually funtion okay on 6 hrs, which is less than desired, but I'm a champ at 7! Eight always feels like too much for me and I feel groggy!

  10. Unfortunately, I've trained myself to function on less sleep. We get up early for work and come home late too. I'm sure all this sleep deprivation is going to cost me, in one form or another, when I'm older.

    Thanks for the reminder of Lara's bday. I need to send her a note too.

  12. I think I definitely need more sleep the older I get. I tell ya, just staying up till midnight on New Year's Eve is a struggle now. Gawd, I sound OLD! ;)

  13. Oh how fun that you and Lara go to the same gym!! Thanks for letting me know it's her b-day, I'll have to give her a Happy B-day Wish.

    Glad the toddler is feeling better. Being sick is no fun :(
    This weekend Nick and I went on a last tour of our favorite two houses. His house won. The large garage and back yard beats the fact that the walls are an ugly color and the kitchen floor is AWFUL! Oh well, we can make it look nice :)

    I appreciate the need for sleep more and more. I try to get at least 7 hours on weeknights, but my body is happiest with about 8 hours.

  18. i CANNOT function with less than 7 hours of sleep, i have tried ep since 2-3 times a week I START work at 5am, so I have to go to bed at 9 to get my full 7 hours. Sweet life I have haha,,,,but i do feel 20 times better with proper nights rest!

  19. Yeah, I know exacly what you mean! The boy is sick and the momsie also exhausted... then mood just changed! It's not easy being a mother. My hubby telling me the same thing too. But now, it's all over. Thank God!
