Wonderful Wednesday

I liked reading about how you are all doing on your goals. It seems like everyone is pretty much on track… I like writing down goals as it’s so easy to “forget” to concentrate on what matters to us because “life gets in the way”…

I got a question from Cindy whether I was still flossing. You may remember that in November I did a Flossing Challenge. The answer is “yes.” I’m still flossing very consistently, but I may have slipped here and there… Cindy said she liked my flossing reminders, so I’ll post them once in a while to keep us all flossing!

A few weeks ago, POM Wonderful contacted me and asked if they could send me some POM juice to try. I love pomegranates and they have numerous health benefits (which I’ll write about another time), so I very quickly said “Yes. Please send it.” When the teenager heard that we’d be getting POM juice, he was super excited. He loved eating pomegranates when he was little. 15 years ago pomegranates somehow seemed more “exotic,” and I was so proud that his favorite fruit were pomegranates when he was in preschool! I also remember him staining countless items of clothing while eating the pomegranates… I have to admit that I haven’t introduced pomegranates to the toddler yet. Maybe I’m getting too boring/worried about a mess as I’m getting older?..?!? I think I’ll buy a pomegranate soon and let the toddler try it… I’ll let you know how it goes.

Anyway, our juice arrived a few days ago.

The teenager practically ripped the package out of my hands and asked if he could drink one. I said yes but told him he had to write a review. Well, the review never came, but I can tell that he loved it. We don’t drink a lot of juice, but when we do we mix it with a lot of water and that’s what he did. Hubby also had a bottle and loved it as well.

I’m thinking of putting some POM in my oatmeal tomorrow. I was also thinking of using some in a salad dressing. There are many recipes listed on the POM Wonderful website, and I’ll check it out some more later for some inspirations.

Questions: Do you like pomegranates and POM Wonderful juice? Besides from drinking it, what do you use it for? Do you have any POM Wonderful juice recipes you’d like to share? If so, please link to them in the comments. Oh, and yes, did you floss today? Finally, did you enter my giveaway yet? If not, you can enter here.

Be well,
Andrea

  4. I love that juice but I literally cannot afford it. I bought a pomegranate a couple of month ago and the seeds were so sour I gave up trying to eat it. Maybe I should try it again. Maybe I just got a bad one. I know the health benefits are huge!

  5. I floss at least twice a day and always think of you when I do it, lol.

I don't like pomegranite stuff much- I would probably use it to make some kind of marinade or smoothie. I know some people cooked oats in it!

  6. Awesome that you got some sent to you. I do like pomegranetes, and I like how the juice tastes, but I can drink tons of juice and I find that I rack up the calories quickly when I drink them, so I usually avoid juice. I can drink a whole apple juice jug in a day no problem, so I stick to water. But I agree it tastes really good. Now using it in cooking sounds interesting.

  7. POM Wonderful is awesome! I've used it in oats and to make cranberry sauce. To die for. Not to mention that it's tasty straight up. My son (who is 8) loves the stuff...

Thanks for your lovely commeents, as usual my friend :)

Flossing, I am a huge believer!! My hubs went from pretty severe gum disease to not, by doing an elect toothbrush and flossing every day. It's the simple things, really. Good for you for sticking with it!!!!

  16. I love pomegrantes! So messy though. The only recipe I've used pomegrante juice in is smoothies. It gives a nice color and tang to the drink.
