Salad with Halibut

The other day I bought some halibut. My intention had been to recreate the crusted halibut dish that hubby got when we went out to celebrate my birthday a few weeks ago. However, somehow things didn't quite work out, and I really needed to use the halibut quickly. So I ended up simply sauteing it in a bit of olive oil and seasoned it with salt, pepper & lots of lemon juice. I served it on some lightly dressed mixed greens.

This was a very satisfying meal that I will definitely make again. But I'll also try to make some crusted halibut soon...

Questions: Do you like fish? What's your favorite fish? Hubby isn't a big fish fan, but he loves halibut because it doesn't taste "fishy."

Be well,
Andrea

  2. I've never tried halibut because I'm not a big fan of seafood. I do love how you prepared it though, and it looks so appetizing.

Does your family appreciate the beauty? My girls would, but I'm not sure if the boys would.

You've just inspired me to make a really beautiful, healthy meal this weekend and see if anyone says anything! I'll let you know!

  4. I love love salmon! smoked salmon for salad and baked salmon as entree. My fav recipe is marinate salmon in soy sauce/wine/brown sugar/salt/pepper and baked it with some onion rings. :)

  12. I really enjoy a good fish, any kind! My favorite would have to be a nice medium rare tuna fillet. Your halibut salad looks very tasty, and Nick doesn't like fish either so if your hubby ate this salad, perhaps I should try it out on Nick!

Have you ever tried baramundi? It's an Australian white fish that is not fishy at all!

  16. My favorite fish is Red Snapper from the Gulf of Mexico. However, I no longer eat it for two reasons: 1. I no longer live in New Orleans where it was easy to get fresh and 2. it's a species which has been overfished.

  23. Looks yummy. I love fish. I am a vegetarian and have been for years. While I was working on my nutrition degree I added fish back into my diet. I think tilapia is great because it is not fishy and very versatile. I refer to it as the tofu of fish. It will taste like what ever you cook it in.
