More Cheesy Goodness

Surprise - I was in the mood for cheese again... :o) So I made a grilled cheese sandwich with tomatoes on Alvarado Street Bakery Sprouted bread. I used a bit of Wasabi Mayo on the outside of the bread again. A very satisfying meal...

Question: What are you going to have for lunch today?

Be well,
Andrea

  1. Yay grilled cheese :D Have you ever tried cheddar and strawberry jam? SO good!

I ate lunch already (3pm here) and had a morrocan salmon/chickpea/bulgur wheat salad :)

  3. I love that sandwich! We are having quesadillas with vegetarian beans, a touch of cheese and some salsa. My kids like it - I love it, and I have two quesadilla makers that I found at a garage sale so it makes lunch super easy!

Andrea - I'm still trying to decide what beautiful meal I'm going to make. Any suggestions? We only do chicken for meat.

  4. Great and tasty sandwich, and the most important...simple. Love the combination of the flavors :-) I am having some meatloaf and asparagus leftover...

  5. Diane,

The other day I made a chicken dish that turned out pretty (no pics though - it's too hard to take pics during dinner). I sauted some chicken and made a simple mushroom sauce with lots of herbs (I just chopped a bunch of stuff from my herb garden). The green was very pretty in the sauce. I also set some herbs aside to garnish each individual plate... :)

On the side we had oven-baked sweet potato fries (brilliant orange) with just a bit of Parmesean and sauted spinach with garlic (nice dark green).

Hubby actually mentioned how pretty and colorful the plate was and wanted to get the camera to take a picture! But I said no...

  8. Looks delicious!! I need to try some of that wasabi mayo. Each time I go to Treder Joe's I can't bring myself to pay 5 dollars for it because I feel like we wouldn't go through it very fast and I'm afraid Nick wouldn't like it. I'm crazy. Once I start making money I will buy it!

Today for lunch I made a coffee and yogurt smoothie, and had a bowl of cooked vegetables, some carrots and peanut butter, plus some homemade granola. RANDOM MIX!

  9. Too funny. Must be on the same wave length. I was going to have grilled cheese and tomato soup since it just seems like that kinda day (RAINY!). But I had a lot of veggies getting ready to go bad, so I had a veggie sandwich with some melted cheese. Look for picks on my blog in the next few days.

  11. Gosh, that looks amazingly delicious! Wasabi mayo, cheese, and tomatoes all grilled up??? Oh my goodness!

Even though I'm about 2 hours away from lunch, I have no idea what i'm having! I think it'll involve some sort of egg scramble, mmm!

p.s. Andrea, I love these cute little posts that you do all the time. You'd think shorter posts wouldn't have as much info or impact on us, but that is SO far from true! Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your blog posts :)

  16. Oh that sandwich looks great! Typically I bring my lunch into work but today we met a junior high student during her lunch hour and brought a lunch we knew she'd like to share - pizza! I actually haven't had take-out pizza in a while and it was good, but still not as satisfying to me as a hearty and healthy salad or wrap!

  22. I don't think you'll find a single person who doesn't appreciate a good grilled cheese sammy! What a super idea to use Wasabi Mayo on the outside of the bread. I would have never thought of that in a million years. Totally must try that soon!

    Great blog! Thanks Marisa!
