Appreciating The Little Things

Last week, I was reminded how life can so suddenly change and that we should really enjoy and appreciate every moment. We have always made a conscious effort to enjoy and appreciate life. Plus, the toddler reminds us every day how wonderful life is and how much joy we can find in the "little things."

Here are some of the little things he has enjoyed lately! I love looking at the world through his eyes...

Questions: What have you been doing lately to enjoy the little things in life? When was the last time you enjoyed life like a kid?

Be well,
Andrea

  1. He is adorable! I enjoy a summer tomato! I mean, what is more perfect? The smell, the taste, the perfect red color? And the only way to get that perfect tomato is to grow one yourself or live really near someone who grows them and form a very friendly relationship with them! lol

  2. He is so beautiful! He looks like he has golden brown hair and dark eyes like my boy. Everything my little one does makes me joyful, his sleeping, eating, talking. And the highlight of my past week is 2 number 2's in the potty! Yeah!

  4. I love the fountain photos!(I've always wanted to run through the fountains like that!)

My daughter and I have recently taken up a scavenger hunt around our state to enjoy life like a kid :) We get to find all these neat places, and I get to watch her discover them! It's just great.

  5. Hee hee! Totally chuckling at the last pic in the fountain, because we have TONS of fountains in USC and each time I pass by I am tempted to just jump into them.

  7. Great pics, he is just too cute. I try to take advantage of every moment I have with friends and family, all the time. When I find myself drifting outside of "the moment" I remind myself to return. As far as living like a kid, I've been doing more dancing, more free living and free intuitive eating. I don't say no to many things anymore, I enjoy life!

  8. What a great post! Love the pics. To live like a kid I often do things outside. Feel so much more peace and freedom when I'm doing family activities outdoors. Also, goofing with the kids and chasing them and hiding, makes you feel so much more at their level. Love it!

  10. He is so cute!!

I try to play like a child every chance I get- last weekend, I spent playing Wii and running outside with my 3-year old nephew, Owen- and I love playing even without real children around!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  12. Wow, it's not possible to be any cuter!!! He is just adorable! What a great question too - I take time to relax, take care of myself, etc. but enjoying life like a kid...hmmm, makes me realize I should do that more often! However, working with kids, I would say they definitely teach me to appreciate how creative our imaginations can be! :)

  15. What is that stuff that he is eating? Looks delicious, but I'm guessing he makes everything look delicious. So adorable splashing in the water!

The last time I enjoyed something that much was probably when I eat really good food. Umm, yesterday ;)

  16. I'm not a "kid" person, so to speak, but their innocence and genuine sense of what they want/need is always inspriring. They know what they like and don't worry about calories, looking messy or money-perfect!

I have also been trying to appreciate the little things and have found a lot of peace in nature. Just sitting outside--no phone, computer, etc.--and observing can be extremely calming...add in some good food, and I'm there :)
