Awesome Baked Sweet Potato Fries

To be honest, I have never really cared for sweet potatoes. Growing up, I didn't really like things that were sweet. And sweet potatoes are kind of sweet... So I never liked them. But hubby, the teenager, and even the toddler like sweet potatoes.

So when I saw Jenn at Bread + Butter post a recipe for Baked Parmesan Sweet Potatoes I had to try it! And let me tell you, they turned out great. They were sweet yet savory due to a little salt and the Parmesan cheese. Hubby actually said the following: "For me, the sweet potato fries alone would be the perfect lunch." Thanks, sweetie... I'll take it as a compliment!

Anyway, if you like sweet potatoes (or even if you don't), try these fries. They are awesome. Just watch them very carefully towards the end. I think I ended up baking mine for about 25 minutes, and they were quite dark (but perfect!). If you haven't checked out Jenn's blog, I would suggest you do. She posts the most amazing recipes! Plus, her pictures are absolutely beautiful...

Questions: Do you like sweet potatoes? What's your favorite way of eating them?

Be well,
Andrea

  1. I've recently become a big fan of sweet potato fries, though I usually use Kickin' Chick'n seasoning on them (it's just a spicy seasoning for meat and veggies.)

I'm going to try this soon! Thanks for the link!!

  2. I love sweet potatoes! I'll take them any way I can get them, but I really enjoy sweet potato chips. I just use my mandelin and slice realllly thin slices, then sprinkle on some EVOO, garlic powder, and pepper, then pop them in the oven for about 30 minutes at 400 degrees. SO GOOD!

  3. I'm glad you enjoyed them. I can't get enough of them. These have become a part of my regular rotation of foods as no matter what I want to make out of sweet potatoes I always end up making them into fries. LOL.

  7. Love love love sweet potatoes, but never liked them growing up either. I remember one time, my mom served us a sweet potato pie saying it was pumpkin just so we would eat it. It didn't work. :)

However, I discovered them during college, and I've been a sweet potato lover ever since. My favorite way to eat them is baked in the oven and plain, but my husband loves them in fry form. Plus, he loves his parm - he be all over this recipe! Thanks for sharing.

  8. I love sweet potatoes! I either bake them and put a bit of butter on or roast them in olive oil and serve with a little garlic may. The sweetness and the garlic really complement each other well!
By the way your blog is beautiful!
